On the afternoon of June 24, 2021, the cross-strait exchange and cultural salon activity co-sponsored by the Beijing Happiness Home Public Welfare Service Center and the three branches of the Xicheng Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang was successfully held in the conference room of the Beijing Municipal Democratic Party Building. With the theme of "Two Sides of the Strait In the Same Boat and Paying Tribute to Heroes," the event gathered patriotic young people in Taiwan, outstanding communist party members on the mainland, and representatives of democratic parties on the occasion of the 100 th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China to commemorate the heroes of the hidden front of the Communist Party of China in Taiwan.
Zhang Liqi, a patriotic young scholar from Taiwan, conducted a dialogue and interview with Ms. Qin Yan, a member of the Beijing Municipal Committee for the Reunification of the Motherland and the granddaughter of General Qin Yizhi, a famous general of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, and introduced the touching story of the unsung heroes on the hidden front of the development of the Communist Party of China in Taiwan and the hidden fronts that sacrificed for the reunification of the motherland. Representatives from education, culture and art, the media, enterprises, institutions, social organizations and democratic parties participated in the event.

Zhang Liqi, a young patriotic scholar from Taiwan and a lecturer at Huaqiao University, introduced:
After Taiwan was invaded and occupied by Japan in 1895, the people on the island still maintained close ties with the mainland, and some progressive young people accepted communist ideas when they returned to the mainland to study. For example, Xie Xuehong, a female revolutionary on the island, participated in the May Thirtieth Movement in Shanghai in 1925, joined the Communist Party of China in the same year, and entered the Moscow Oriental University at the end of the year, where she was a classmate of Deng Xiaoping. In April 1928, the Communist Party of Taiwan, with the backbone of the Taiwan revolutionary youth in Shanghai, was established on the second floor of a photo studio in the Shanghai Concession, which was later commonly known as the "Old Taiwan Communist Party". The secretary of the Taiwan Communist Party was Lin Mushun, and Cai Qian (later renamed Cai Qian, Cai Xiaoqian), xie Xuehong, and others were members of the Central Committee.
The Communist Party of Taiwan was established with the help and guidance of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, but in accordance with the principle of the Communist International that colonial party organizations should be under the leadership of the party organizations of the suzerain, the name at that time was "Taiwan Nationality Branch of the Japanese Communist Party", which was under the leadership of the Japanese Communist Party. After the establishment of the Taiwan Communist Party, it returned to the island to mobilize the masses, and in 1929 launched a small-scale riot in south-central Taiwan through the "peasant group", and the Japanese police launched the first "Taiwan Communist Party inspection" and arrested many backbone cadres. With the destruction of the Japanese Communist Party organization on the mainland, in 1931 the Japanese police launched the second "Great Inspection of the Taiwan Communist Party" on the whole island, arrested the leader of the Taiwan Communist Party Xie Xuehong and others and sentenced them to heavy sentences, resulting in the disintegration of the organization, leaving only a few people to hide in the people or sneak back to the mainland.
Zhang Liqi
After Japan surrendered in August 1945 and the Nationalist army was transported by the U.S. army to take over Taiwan, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China decided to establish an organization in this province that returned to the motherland. Cai Qian, who was in Yan'an at that time, was the only Taiwanese cadre with Red Army qualifications, and the CPC Central Committee appointed him secretary of the Taiwan Provincial Working Committee in view of his familiarity with the situation on the island and the test of the Long March. In April 1946, Zhang Zhizhong, deputy secretary of the Working Committee, arrived in Taipei first, and in July Cai Qian (later renamed Cai Qian, Cai Xiaoqian) arrived, and contacted Xie Xuehong and others on the island to secretly establish an organization. Because Taiwan has been ruled by Japan for half a century, the revolutionary trend on the mainland has had little impact on the island, the masses lack understanding of the Communist Party, and the working committee has recruited no more than 100 party members in one year.
In 1947, the "228 Incident" rolled up a popular uprising against Kuomintang rule throughout The island of Taiwan, and Xie Xuehong, Zhang Zhizhong, and others organized some of the masses to participate in the struggle. But then the Kuomintang authorities practiced white terror, which made it more difficult for the secret activities of the working committee. After the liberation of Shanghai in May 1949 and Chiang Kai-shek's escape to Taiwan, according to the report of the Taiwan Working Committee of the Communist Party of China to the Central Committee, the number of underground party members in Taiwan had grown to 1,300, and there were 2,000 people who sympathized with the party and participated in underground activities, but this was still weak among the island's more than 7 million people. Later, the CCP successively sent more than 1,500 Communist Party members and locally developed Party members and progressives from the mainland. In 1949, the triumphant song of the Liberation War was sung, and the liberation of Taiwan became a major strategic task. In July of that year, Mao Zedong proposed that "we must prepare the conditions for attacking Taiwan, except for the army, mainly rely on internal response and air force." The "internal response" mentioned here is the underground party organization on the island.
After the establishment of the Taiwan Working Committee, it played an important role in cooperating with the People's Liberation Army in liberating Taiwan and organizing the Taiwan people to carry out anti-Chiang Kai-shek struggles. In 1949, the Working Committee began to establish armed strongholds in the mountainous areas, printed and distributed the Guangming Pao in Taipei City, and vigorously developed party members. The anti-American and anti-Chiang Kai-shek movement launched by the Taiwan Working Committee was quickly undermined by the Kuomintang agents at that time, and a large number of Communists in Taiwan and patriotic masses who supported the Communist Party were arrested.
In January 1950, Cai Qian (later renamed Cai Qian, Cai Xiaoqian) was arrested and imprisoned by the Kuomintang, he was arrested for the first time and escaped, but was arrested again 3 months later and soon defected. According to the statistics of the Kuomintang authorities, more than 1,000 people were arrested, and those who refused to yield were executed, among which Wu Shi, Zhu Feng, Chen Baocang, and other heroes who preferred to die were emerging.

Although the Communist Party organizations in Taiwan suffered serious damage at that time, they sowed the seeds of the red revolution in Taiwan and influenced many local patriots in Taiwan.
With the passage of time, the situation on both sides of the Taiwan Strait has undergone tremendous changes, and the survivors of the white terror on the island have been able to publicly pay homage to the victims since the 1990s, and the remains of some martyrs have been relocated to the mainland through the arrangements of the relevant departments. In October 2013, the Unsung Heroes Memorial Plaza, built by the Liaison Department of the General Political Department of the People's Liberation Army, was built to commemorate the unsung heroes of a large number of hidden fronts who died in Taiwan. This is the first time that the official commemoration of that dusty history has been publicly commemorated in the form of a memorial square. On the wall of the Granite Martyrs' List in the Monument to the Unknown Heroes Memorial Square, the names of 846 martyrs who died in Taiwan are engraved through searches and discovered by all parties, and the names of more than 200 martyrs are still missing.
Conference activities
At the event, the guests discussed how to better promote cross-strait exchanges and inherit patriotic spirit under the leadership of the Communist Party of China.
Lu Shuijin, secretary of the Nanchang County (Beijing) Branch Committee of the Communist Party of China, introduced the party building work of the branch to the patriotic compatriots in Taiwan:
I am from the Red Revolution Base in Jiangxi, my father is a 63-year-old party member, and I joined the Communist Party of China in 1995. Both generations of our father and son have regarded being a qualified Communist Party member as the goal of their life struggle. Nanchang County is one of the top 100 counties in the country, and there was no party organization in Beijing before, but later, with the support of the local government, I contacted party members from Nanchang County in Beijing, and we set up a party branch. After the establishment of the party branch, our party member team has been expanding, and the branch has mobilized party members to serve the masses, actively attract investment for the hometown, and participate in accurate poverty alleviation. As the secretary of the party branch is to lead the party members to adhere to the original intention and make selfless contributions! Today, Taiwan's patriotic young people have come to the mainland in the hope that they will find more opportunities to understand the mainland, especially the party building work on the mainland, and feel the advanced nature of the CPC.
Lv Shuijin
Bai Guanjun, former member of the CPPCC Dongcheng District Committee and deputy director of the Committee of the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang:
The guests at our event today are very diverse, including Patriotic Youth of Taiwan, Democratic Parties, outstanding Communist Party members, cultural and artistic workers, and this is a united front. We commemorate the 1oo anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, and the reason why the Communist Party of China has been invincible over the past 100 years is that it can lead the people to make China a more advanced and powerful country in the world and a country that the people of the world yearn for. One of the reasons for this success is the establishment of a revolutionary united front, and in order to achieve the peaceful reunification of the motherland, it is necessary to unite all patriotic personages on the island and outside the island to form a broad united front, unite and form a united front from different angles, on different fronts, and in different positions, and form a joint force to complete the work of peaceful reunification of the motherland.

Wu Yunzhi, member of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention and the Calligraphers Association of Central State Organs:
I have participated in several salon events in a row, which have benefited me a lot. The original intention of the Communist Party of China is to make selfless dedication and seek happiness for the people; this is the fine tradition left by Chairman Mao Zedong, and today we must carry forward this tradition and prove to patriotic compatriots and the whole world the superiority and advanced nature of our Communist Party of China!
Zhu Yanchun, deputy director of the Women's Committee of the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang in Beijing and former project director of the China Women's Development Foundation:
The history of the Chinese Communist Party's hidden front in Taiwan is singable and tearful, and the difficulty of their situation in Taiwan at that time is unimaginable. Today, many patriotic compatriots in Taiwan who support the reunification of the motherland and spread the ideas of the Red Revolution are also facing the suppression of the DPP, and our party must become their strong backing and care for them in various ways! In the process of the new crown epidemic, our party has withstood severe tests, led the masses to control the epidemic with excellence, and the people have felt the greatness of the party in it, and China can only move toward rejuvenation under the leadership of the Communist Party!
Wang Yuqing, a patriotic youth in Taiwan and the founder of the "Qingge Review" column of Peking University doctoral students:
The DPP has been suppressing patriotic Taiwan compatriots and red forces on the island by spreading rumors, exerting pressure on the families of patriots, and media exaggeration. Some Taiwan compatriots who support the reunification of the motherland were interviewed on trumped-up charges and struggled hard against the Taiwan independence forces on the island. The Taiwan independence forces have also hoodwinked young people in Taiwan by distorting the red history, and we must occupy the platform for foreign media to speak out and let the Taiwan people understand the truth. At present, There are many forces in Taiwan that support the reunification of the motherland, but these forces have not become a joint force, and we need to coordinate these resources on the island and unite the People of Taiwan to form a united front and complete the reunification of the motherland!

Pi Yanchen, Secretary of the Party Branch of the Fifth Party Branch of the "Red Peony Society", Chaoyang District, Beijing:
I am a party member from the grassroots level, and the Peony community is an old community with a complex personnel composition. In 2009, under the leadership of Liu Aiying, the secretary of our community, the "Red Peony Society" was established. This is a platform for spreading the culture of party building and serving the masses, and in the "Red Peony Society", party members lead residents to participate in grass-roots governance spontaneously, and everyone is obligated to dedicate and does not seek returns. On the eve of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the party, we have carried out a wealth of cultural activities to celebrate, at the grass-roots level, the masses sincerely support the party, love the party, hope that Taiwan compatriots can come to the mainland more, come to the community to feel the party's concern and love for the people, and also hope that Taiwan will return to the embrace of the motherland at an early date, and the people of Taiwan can embrace a better future with us!
Pi Yanchen
Chairman of Taiwan Minsheng Party and patriotic musician Zhang Muting:
I was once suppressed by the Taiwan independence forces on the island for composing patriotic songs that support the reunification of the motherland. In 2017, I established the Taiwan Minsheng Party, and we will encounter many difficulties in carrying out activities to support the reunification of the motherland on the island. After 2019, we began to pay attention to the exchanges between young people on both sides of the strait, hoping to influence more young people in Taiwan to make them a force for supporting reunification. I look forward to receiving more support from the mainland for our work!
Zhang Muting
Feng Fangcera, founder of Beijing Bu yiwuxi Film Co., Ltd.:
Thank you to Zhang Liqi for your wonderful sharing, and thank you to Ms. Qin Yan for inviting her to participate in such a meaningful activity. The history written by the heroes of the Communist Party of China on the hidden front in Taiwan should be remembered by every Chinese, they are well-deserved heroes, and contemporary young people should learn from them and become writers of history and builders of the great new era!
Li Huifang, member of the Xicheng Revolutionary Committee for the Reunification of the Motherland and a member of the Kuomintang Revolutionary Party:
I vaguely remember the scene of going to Taiwan many years ago, the scenery of Taiwan is beautiful, and the people of Taiwan are enthusiastic and simple. They are enthusiastic to help me show the way and provide us with thoughtful services, and I feel from the bottom of my heart that The Taiwan compatriots love the mainland compatriots, and we are willing to establish sincere friendship with the Taiwan compatriots. At present, compatriots on both sides of the strait are deliberately separated and created antagonism by the Taiwan independence forces, which every peace-loving Chinese does not want to see, and hopes that the CPC will lead the people to complete the reunification of the motherland as soon as possible and let the compatriots on both sides of the strait become a real family.
Li Huifang
Dr. Sun Yat-sen World Cosmopolitan Foundation Director and Director of Strategy:
As a descendant of Huangpu, I was influenced by the patriotic spirit of Huangpu since I was a child, because of the origins of Huangpu, I have more contact with the mainland, and I have also encountered investigations by Taiwan independence forces. The new generation of Huangpu on both sides of the strait should jointly create new opportunities for reunification; Dr. Sun Yat-sen's Three People's Principles still have many significance worth learning from for the progress of social civilization and economic development, and the Communist Party of China has inherited and carried forward Sun Yat-sen's progressive thoughts. Rejuvenating the Chinese nation is the aspiration of every patriotic compatriot and the banner of cross-strait reunification. Although it is difficult for patriotic Taiwan compatriots to promote reunification on the island now, as long as we can learn from the CPC to closely unite the masses and mobilize the masses, one day we will see a rainbow after the storm!

At the scene of the event, Ms. Qin Yan, Secretary General of Beijing Happy Home Public Welfare Service Center and member of the Kuomintang Revolutionary Party, summarized the topics discussed in the salon and advocated:
2021 is the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, and throughout the 100 years of the history of the Communist Party of China, the Communist Party of China has continued to grow and develop in the course of experience, and now it is full of vitality and new hope. On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, I would like to thank Zhang Liqi for sharing the special topic on the history of the Communist Party of China in Taiwan, so that we can have a comprehensive understanding of the history of the hidden front of the Communist Party of China in Taiwan.
For the sake of the reunification of the motherland, the unsung heroes of the hidden front of the Communist Party of China in Taiwan are infinitely loyal to the party, they have accepted the test of blood and fire, they are outstanding sons and daughters of the Chinese nation, they are loyal defenders of the party, and they embody in them the iron backbone and the magnificent righteousness of the Chinese communists.
When we commemorate together today's revolutionary predecessors who sacrificed their lives in Taiwan, we can not only further arouse the will to struggle for the complete reunification of the motherland, but also sum up some lessons with historical regularity by reviewing the process of the destruction of the Cpc's Taiwan Work Committee.
Today's years of tranquility and peace and security have been bought by the revolutionary ancestors for decades of heavy loads. sacrifice! In addition to the heroes who are drunk on the battlefield, there are countless heroes who are fighting on the hidden front. With the release of the declassified materials, we hope that the names of more revolutionary ancestors will be known, and we hope that all heroes who have contributed to the motherland and the people can be remembered by history and the people!
In the process of creating a new China and the great cause of the CPPCC, the Kuomintang Revolutionary Committee, as a member of the united front and multi-party cooperation under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, has always been in the same boat with the Communist Party of China, sharing weal and woe, and has been both a witness to history and a participant in history.
On the road of great rejuvenation, our new generation of Kuomintang revolutionary party members should follow in the footsteps of the patriotic ancestors of the Kuomintang Revolutionary Committee and continue to be in the same boat with the CPC through thick and thin, and we should, like the patriotic ancestors of the Kuomintang Revolutionary Committee, constantly raise the level of political theory and enhance our comprehensive quality, so that our participation in the administration and discussion of state affairs will have something to say and make feasible suggestions, and at the same time give play to the characteristics of the Kuomintang Revolutionary Committee, unite patriotic Taiwan youth, and promote the peaceful reunification of the motherland.
It is hoped that the patriotic compatriots on both sides of the strait will join hands and work with one heart and one mind under the leadership of the Communist Party of China to realize the great ideal of rejuvenating the Chinese nation!
