"Do not kill, do not steal, do not commit adultery, do not speak in vain, and do not drink alcohol" These are the five precepts in Buddhism, buddhist disciples talk about the six roots of purity, wine and meat can not be stained, stained is "breaking the precepts." But Ji Gong always said, "Wine and flesh pass through the intestines, but the Buddha's heart remains." Speaking of which, do you have any doubts? In fact, there are two last sentences in this poem.
Wine and flesh pass through the intestines, the Buddha's heart remains, and if the world learns from me, it is like entering the path of the devil.
This sentence is not just a fiction of literary works, it has a source, the last years of the Ming Dynasty, the world is in chaos, Zhang Xianzhong, the general of the rebel army, murderous. Under his rule, the Sichuan region, from the bureaucracy down to the common people, did not benefit from it, but because the war was more dilapidated and chaotic. At that time, there was a monk named Broken Mountain Monk, who did not go out of the dust like a monk to practice behind closed doors, but had been standing with the common people, dealing with the Ming army, the Qing army, the Southern Ming army, the local armed forces, and the bandits and bandits who oppressed the people, guiding them to evil and promoting good.
In 1639 (the twelfth year of Chongzhen), Zhang Xianzhong ordered his subordinate Li Liyang to massacre the entire city of Baoning Province, and for a time, the whole city was silenced, and everyone was frightened when they heard Zhang Xianzhong's name. At this time, the monk of the Broken Mountain once again stood up, asked for the people's orders, and negotiated with Li Liyang.
Li Liyang was surprised that a monk had such courage.
"I have long heard that you are a monk who broke the mountain and has a profound Dharma and strict precepts, and if you eat these wine and meat today, I will not kill them!" (Ru can eat Inuzuka meat, and I should seal the blade.) Say it, and let your men lay out the pork, dog meat, and wine.
For the monk who broke the mountain, this choice is so difficult! Eating meat and drinking wine is a big taboo in Buddhism, choosing to eat Inuzuka meat, and there is no longer a foothold in Buddhism; If you don't eat, the lives of the people of the whole city will not be guaranteed.
The monk who broke the mountain chose the lives of the entire city. Jizo King Bodhisattva said, "I don't go to hell who goes to hell." He chose to sacrifice himself for all sentient beings.
While drinking wine and eating meat, the monk of the Broken Mountain said, "The wine and meat pass through the intestines, and the Buddha's heart remains, and if the world learns from me, it is like entering the path of the devil." These four verses. It has been passed down through the ages.
