Since mid-October, the Huangnan Military Sub-district of Qinghai Province, in connection with the study and education of party history, has vigorously carried out a series of activities of "carrying forward the spirit of the old plateau in the new era, making contributions based on one's own duties and opening up a new situation" to guide officers and men to constantly consolidate the calcium of the spirit, continue to stimulate enthusiasm for work, and build momentum for the transformation and construction of military sub-districts.
"Iron heart to the party, love Qinghai, hard struggle, sacrifice and dedication, and building a plateau of merit" is the profound connotation of the spirit of the old plateau in the new era. Speaking of the original intention of carrying out the activities, Yu Huayong, political commissar of the military sub-district, said with deep feeling: "Generations of plateau officers and men have not hesitated to give up their small families to take care of everyone, are willing to suffer hardships and losses, and are willing to sacrifice and dedicate; more than 3,000 people have left their lives on the plateau forever, and many comrades have also suffered from plateau diseases that are difficult to cure for life.
The area under the jurisdiction of this military sub-district has an average altitude of more than 3,300 meters and a harsh natural environment; they persist in educating and motivating officers and men with the spirit of the old plateau, and constantly strengthen the conviction of the vast number of officers and men to listen to the party and follow the party. Taking advantage of the opportunity of officers and men transferring to check in and civilian personnel taking up their posts, we will organize everyone to visit the military history museum and the honor room, compile and print a book of party history, military history, and the spiritual knowledge of the old plateau, and use them as educational materials for party classes and regiments, and hold a reading and speech contest on "The Spirit of the Old Plateau in My Heart" to strengthen the officers' understanding, identification, and daily practice of the spirit of the old plateau in the new era.
Making full use of the red resources around the garrison, the military sub-district organized officers and men to visit the Huangnan Prefecture Party and Mass Service Center, the Patriotic Education Base of Anla Qianhufu in Jianzha County, and the Memorial Hall of the West Road Army in Hongguang Village, Xunhua County, to listen to the stories of the captured soldiers of the West Road Army and the horse bandits fighting to the death, to guide officers and men to draw nourishment from inheriting the red gene, and to enhance their true love for the party and the army.
"On holidays, cadres of organs are dispatched to the plateau to take up their posts, send greetings to officers and men for their collective birthdays, and organize help and love donations to people with family difficulties..." In particular, in the military appraisal organized by the provincial military district not long ago, some officers and men of the military sub-district did not hesitate to postpone their marriage dates, and some took the initiative to end their leave early to participate in the appraisal, showing a high sense of collective honor and a strong sense of responsibility.
