LESSON 12

Lesson 12

SUSIE SUNBEAM

Sunshine Girl

Susie was always pleasant in her play with other children.

The Sunshine Girl always had a great time with the other little ones.

She never used an unkind word, but tried to do whatever would please her playmates best.

She never said anything unkind, on the contrary, she always tried to please her playmates as much as possible.

One day, a poor little girl with a very ragged dress was going by and Susie heard some children teasing her and making fun of her.

One day, when a poor little girl in rags passed by, the Sunshine Girl heard some children laughing at her and making fun of her.

She at once ran out to the gate, and asked the poor little girl to come in.

She immediately ran to the gate and invited the poor little girl in.

"What are you crying for?" Susie asked.

"Why are you crying?" Sunshine Girl asked.

"Because they all laugh at me," she said.

"Because they all made fun of me." She said.

Then Susie took the little girl into the house.

So the Sunshine Girl brought the little girl into the house.

She cheered her up with kind words, and gave her a nice dress and a pair of shoes.

She comforted and encouraged her with kind words and gave her a beautiful dress and a pair of shoes.

This brought real joy and gladness to the poor child, and she, too, thought that Susie was rightly called Sunbeam.

This made the girl really happy, and she also thought that Susan really should be called "Sunshine Girl" by everyone.
