Yandu Street, Yancheng High-tech Zone: Let the Tombs of Scattered Martyrs Concentrate on "Home"

In the past few days, Yandu Street in Yancheng High-tech Zone has taken solid and effective measures, implemented special personnel to be responsible, explored and verified the scattered burial of martyrs' tombs within its jurisdiction, and organized local cadres and groups to relocate and bury the scattered tombs of martyrs in a centralized manner, so that martyrs can "go home." Up to now, 56 scattered martyrs' tombs have been concentrated in the street to bury the Minyang Cemetery.

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, and Yandu Street has actively carried out the activity of "letting the martyrs go home" in accordance with the overall requirements of "I do practical things for the masses" and in accordance with the spirit of the document "Notice on Doing a Good Job in the Centralized Burial of Scattered Martyrs' Tombs Without Commemorative Facilities". In late May, the street veterans service station carried out centralized relocation and burial of 5 martyrs' scattered tombs in its jurisdiction, and the bones of the martyrs were placed in the Minyang Cemetery, and the 5 martyrs were buried in the same year, including Sun Tongxin, Ding Changlian, Wu Yongsheng, Xu Liancheng and Wang Huaiyou.

After investigation, the location of these five scattered martyrs' tombs is relatively remote, the infrastructure is poor, and few people go to visit. After the Yandu Street Veterans Service Station quickly verified the relevant information of the martyrs and confirmed that there was no error, in accordance with the "Law of the People's Republic of China on the Protection of Heroes and Martyrs" and other relevant policies and regulations, it immediately started the matters related to the relocation of scattered martyrs' tombs, and made every effort to do a good job in service work, ensuring the smooth progress of the centralized relocation of scattered martyrs' tombs. At the same time, the tomb of the Unknown Soldier was searched through the Heroic Martyrs' Network, visited the local people, and moved to the Minyang Cemetery after being confirmed to be correct.

The centralized relocation of scattered martyrs' tombs, the "home" for martyrs, and the casting of "souls" for the nation are of great historical and practical significance for further excavating the ideological connotation and era value of red resources and giving full play to "praising martyrs and educating the masses". Yandu Street will continue to play the role of martyrs' memorial facilities, create a good social atmosphere of "paying tribute to heroes and advocating heroic martyrs", and continuously inherit and carry forward the spirit of red culture.
