The responsible comrades of the relevant municipal departments watched the performance together with more than 700 spectators on the scene. Huai opera "Snow Maple Selling Horses" was adapted and created by the Huai Opera Troupe of Sheyang County based on the story of the famous anti-war general Peng Xuefeng selling horses, with young screenwriter Hua Chunlan, a national director Wang Youli, and national first-class composer Zhao Zhenfang participating in the main creation, and recently successfully selected for the 2021 Jiangsu Provincial Stage Art Creation Support Project.
Through a series of dramatic actions such as "selling horses, buying horses, borrowing horses, and returning horses," the play fully mobilized the masses, joined hands to resist Japan, and opened up the arduous course of the anti-Japanese base area behind the enemy lines in Yuwan and Anhui, created a brilliant image of Peng Xuefeng, and carried forward the sense of national unity embodied in the anti-Japanese soldiers who were united in their efforts to go to the country together; the national heroic spirit of not fearing violence and daring to fight the enemy to the end; the national self-improvement belief in being indomitable and daring to rely on their own strength to defeat the aggressors; pioneering and innovating.
