Guangzhou, 17 May (China News Service) -- Zhao Yang, chairman of the China Chinese Education Foundation, visited Zhao Tailai, a famous Chinese collector and philanthropist, in Guangdong on 16 May, and expressed sincere thanks to him for his long-term concern and vigorous support for the development of Chinese education on behalf of the foundation.

On the morning of the 16th, Zhao Yang, accompanied by Yu Xiao, vice chairman and secretary general of the China Chinese Education Foundation, Li Xiaomei, director of the second department of the project, Xie Xiantuan, chairman of shenzhen Kunxiang Group, the donor of the foundation, and Tian Guilian, chairman of Shenzhen Yaohua Experimental School, went to Guangzhou Panyu Baomo Garden and Nanyue Garden to visit mr. Zhao Tailai, the donor of the foundation. Zhao Yang and his party visited with great interest a large number of precious cultural relics, antiques, artworks and calligraphy and paintings donated by Zhao Tailai in Baomo Garden.

It is understood that Zhao Tailai, born in 1954, Is a British Chinese, whose ancestral home is Dongguan, Guangdong, is a famous collector, philanthropist and painter. He came from a family of scholars and generations of collectors of cultural relics, and was the great-grandson of the famous modern diplomat Wu Tingfang. He went to Hong Kong at the age of 15 and later settled in the United Kingdom, where he inherited a large number of precious antique artifacts from his family.

In the 1990s, Zhao Tailai overcame many difficulties and obstacles, paid a huge amount of freight, transported a large number of cultural relics and antiques collected in the family cellar from the United Kingdom to Hong Kong, and then donated them to various cultural relics collection units in the mainland, which was as large as 60 containers. For more than 30 years, he has donated more than 60,000 ancient art treasures to the Chinese overseas Chinese affairs system, local museums, art academies, and Chinese educational institutions.

"For so many years, my antiquities and antiques have only been donated and not sold, because I have to fulfill the oath I made to my aunt." Zhao Tailai introduced that her aunt was once the custodian of the family treasure, and she thought that it was difficult for so many things to get together in life, and it could not be scattered when they got together. The opportunity should be used to let the people understand China's splendid history and culture.

"Life is short, and it passes in the blink of an eye. If I don't show a sense of social responsibility, no one will do it in a flash. Zhao Tai said that in his lifetime, he likes to spend time doing what he likes, doing his best sense of social responsibility, and doing what he can for the people.

Zhao Yang fully affirmed Zhao Tailai's contribution to overseas Chinese education and cultural public welfare and charity. He pointed out that Mr. Zhao Tailai has long been engaged in cultural public welfare charity undertakings, actively cared for and supported the development of Chinese education, was one of the earliest donors of the China Chinese Education Foundation, and was an old friend of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office and the overseas Chinese community. On behalf of the Foundation, he thanked Mr. Zhao Tailai for his generous and selfless efforts over the years, and hoped that in the future, more and more people with a sense of social responsibility like Zhao Tailai would care about the development of Chinese cultural charity and Chinese education.

During their stay in Guangdong, Zhao Yang and his party also went to Zhongshan City to hold discussions with the five schools undertaking the Foundation's Chinese education work, and went to Zhuhai City to have in-depth exchanges with Ms. Qian Lingge, Chairman of the Lingge Art Foundation, on future cooperation.
