Wu Yuzhang was a pioneer of a new type of higher education in New China, who persisted in revolution and education throughout his life, and always regarded education as part of the revolutionary cause. From the preparation of Shaanxi North Public School, to the establishment of North China Union University, to the president of North China University in 1948, to the preparation for the establishment of Chinese University in 1949 and the first president, Wu Yuzhang worked hard for the birth, development and growth of Chinese University for decades, until the last breath of his life.
In the 17 years that Wu Yuzhang served as president, Chinese University has trained nearly 50,000 construction talents for the country. The educational theories and teaching methods he founded that are suitable for the needs of China's construction and development have made Chinese University quickly become a banner in the field of higher education in New China, especially in the field of humanities and social sciences education.
