According to foreign media reports, Ado Campeol, an Italian restaurateur known as the "father of Tiramisu" by the Italian media, died on October 30 at the age of 93.

According to reports, Quimper died at his home in Treviso, in the veneto region of northern Italy, on Oct. 30. He is the owner of le Beccherie restaurant and has also been named by the Italian press as the inventor of the famous dessert tiramisu.

According to the British newspaper The Guardian, although the origin of tiramisu is often disputed, and the family has never patented the recipe, Quimper and his wife Alba are widely believed to be the inventors of tiramisu.

It is said that tiramisu was invented in 1969 and features coffee-soaked biscuits and mascarpone cheese. This dessert was officially added to the menu of Quimper's restaurant in 1972.

Veneto President Luca Zaya expressed his condolences for Quimper's death in a social media post on October 31, saying Treviso had lost "another star in the history of food and wine."
