After being demoted, Wang Jinshan was assigned to the Huangpan District Farm in Zhoukou, Henan province, as deputy field commander, while Xiao Yongyin, the head of Wang Jinshan's three musketeers during the revolutionary period, served as the commander of the armored corps in the Nanjing Military Region. One day, Wang Jinshan arranged for his son to go to the Nanjing Military Region to find Xiao Yongyin, on the one hand, to visit him, and on the other hand, to inquire whether there was a solution to his problem.
After Wang Jinshan's son arrived at the Nanjing Military Region, Xiao Yongyin warmly received him and asked him to relay three words to Wang Jinshan. The three sentences are: "First, admit your mistakes; second, write a letter to explain your problems; third, you are not old enough to work for the country, please approve the return to the army to continue to make some contributions." Wang Jinshan's son returned and relayed Xiao Yongyin's words to his father.
In 1969, on the occasion of the Ninth National Congress, Wang Jinshan wrote three letters. The contents of the three letters are exactly the same, and they are addressed to Xiao Yongyin, Xu Shiyou, and Chairman Mao. The content of the letter was written exactly in accordance with Xiao Yongyin's request.
