School history and culture is a record of the development process of the school, a unique cultural resource of colleges and universities, and one of the effective carriers for promoting ideological and political education in colleges and universities. For a long time, problems such as imperfect school history and cultural work mechanisms, insufficient educational carriers, imperfect education systems, and unconscious educational awareness have affected the effective play of their ideological and political education functions. This paper analyzes the relationship between school history culture and ideological and political education in colleges and universities, the advantages of school history education compared with other ideological and political education methods, and specifically analyzes the functions of the four aspects of school history and culture-oriented demonstration, incentive cohesion, value recognition, and emotional cultivation. Based on this, it proposes to build a three-dimensional path for the education of people in the history and culture of colleges and universities.
The cultural background and reasons for the history of colleges and universities
In 2004, the "Opinions on Further Strengthening and Improving the Ideological and Political Education of College Students" issued by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council put forward requirements for this work, that is, "actively explore new ways and new methods for college students' ideological and political education under the new form, strive to embody the nature of the times, grasp the regularity, be creative, and enhance timeliness." In the "National Medium- and Long-term Educational Reform and Development Program (2 0 1 0 - 2 020 years)", it is proposed that colleges and universities should actively promote cultural dissemination and strengthen the construction of campus culture. Generally speaking, the ideological and political work of college students in colleges and universities has shown a good development trend, which has created a good atmosphere for the study of culture, especially the role of ideological and political education in school history and culture. With the endless emergence of various social trends of thought and the cultural penetration of the Western media, china's current values have shown the characteristics of pluralism, which have spread to colleges and universities and are eroding the mainstream campus culture. Therefore, it is very necessary to develop and utilize school history resources to guide and educate students to form correct values. School history resources are the accumulation and condensation of the school's excellent cultural traditions, is the essence of campus culture, on this basis to develop and utilize, easy to obtain the psychological and emotional identity of teachers and students, the formation of a sense of identity and belonging to the school, at the same time conducive to the formation of a distinctive campus cultural brand, enrich the cultural connotation of colleges and universities [1].
(II) Analysis of The Problems and Causes Affecting the Effective Play of the Role of Ideological and Political Education in School History Culture Is Rich and Diverse in Content, Close to the Student Learning Environment, Easy for Students to Accept, and Is an Important Resource for University Construction and Development. Ideological and political education itself has cultural attributes, and using the method of "educating people with culture and educating people with culture" to integrate cultural resources into education and teaching can enrich the spiritual connotation of cultural activities. At present, however, many colleges and universities are not enthusiastic and have a strong motivation in the process of conducting research on school history and culture, resulting in the fact that school history culture has not played its due role in ideological and political education.
1. The Work Mechanism of School History and Culture Is Not Perfect All departments and departments of colleges and universities are the main body of school history and cultural construction, but there is a lack of effective cooperation mechanisms between various departments and departments; most schools are coordinated by the propaganda department of the party committee, and the Youth League Committee and various colleges are assisted, but the links between the various subjects are not strong, and it is difficult to form a joint force, so there is a lack of overall plans and arrangements for the development and optimization of school history.
2. Insufficient Carriers of School History Culture Education With the development of the new media era, many colleges and universities have begun to excavate other carriers of school history and culture education, such as online school history museums, but in terms of bearing forms, they have not yet sorted out resources such as school history education books, and some colleges and universities are not strong in developing new media for school history culture and other educational carriers, which do not match the network demands of college students in the era of big data, and it is difficult to effectively play the infiltrative education function of school history culture.
3. The School History and Culture Education System Is Not Perfect At present, the propaganda channels for school history and culture are mostly through the second classroom, with students mainly studying on their own, and some schools require new students to read school history books and submit a sense of reading after reading them before new students enter the school, but after enrollment, there is no relevant systematic school history and school situation education, although activities such as visiting school history museums and school history knowledge contests will be held, but they are relatively trivial, lack systematic, and the theme is not prominent enough, the role of the main channel in the classroom has not been effectively brought into play, and the effect of ideological and political education is not obvious.
4. Unconscious awareness of the development of school history and culture The teaching force engaged in school history education or research is insufficient, the subjective energy is weak, and it is difficult to establish the teacher's conscious awareness of promoting the education of school history culture. Most of the publications on the history of colleges and universities are "major events" of school history sorted out in chronological order, lack of awareness of innovation and reform, and insufficient educational resources, which indirectly affect students' cognition of school history and cultural education and their enthusiasm and initiative in accepting it, and it is difficult to enhance the effectiveness of the function of school history culture in educating people. The Role and Advantages of Ideological and Political Education in School History Culture School history culture is a valuable resource and vivid teaching material for carrying out ideological and political education, and if it can be effectively applied, it can achieve better educational results.
(I) Advantages of School History and Cultural Education Over Other Ideological and Political Education Methods Post-95 college students are generally ideologically active and have outstanding personalities, but due to the influence of Internet thinking, their understanding of things is one-sided and extreme, and it is all the more necessary for college and university educators to be able to keep pace with the times in the process of conducting ideological and political education, so that educational methods can adapt to the growth characteristics of contemporary college students and better complete educational achievements [2].

School history education is conducive to enhancing collective cohesion In the new period, colleges and universities use various media forms to package and improve school history culture; in addition to routine school history education, they also expand the scope of propaganda and education through online media, and turn boring and monotonous words into vivid images.
2. School History Education Has a Lifelike and Humanistic Atmosphere Ideological and political education is a practical activity to cultivate people and comprehensively enhance their quality, so it requires a certain carrier and story to better achieve its results. School history education is based on specific people and events, which is more clear and specific than traditional political preaching, and has the special advantage of having a more intuitive perspective than traditional political teaching, and has the special advantage of having a more intuitive perspective. Figuratively speaking, it is to let the older generation of teaching and scientific research workers travel through time and space, and continue to have an impact on the life and study of college students in the new era. Through vivid narration of the arduous entrepreneurial process of the older generation of educators, the school history and cultural education has carried out a new round of packaging and sublimation, forming a higher level of university spirit and campus culture.

Incentive cohesion function Motivation and cohesion function refers to the fact that after the culture or values are recognized by a group, it will produce centripetal forces and cohesion, so that the group can move forward for a common behavioral goal. The history and culture of the university reflect the ideal demands shared by teachers and students of the school for generations, and the values, ideals, beliefs, and behavior standards contained in them can be formed among teachers and students, such as a strong centripetal force and cohesion that can be formed among teachers and students, to guide teachers and students to consciously work or study in accordance with the values led by the school. Emotional cultivation function Culture, as an external environment, can create an invisibly impact on people's moral sentiments and personality through the creation of atmosphere, and this subtle influence is not easy to detect but has a far-reaching and lasting impact. For example, the University of Cambridge, which has a history of more than 800 years of establishment, its beautiful campus environment and unique architectural style are an important embodiment of the school's history and culture, and students living and learning in such an environment will naturally be affected and encouraged. School history culture can cooperate with more campus cultural activities and resources to achieve the purpose of edutainment. Creating a Path for Realizing the Three-Dimensional Education of School History and Culture in Colleges and Universities The implicit ideological and political education with school history culture as the carrier refers to the way in which educators embed educational content and information in certain campus historical and cultural works or traditional cultural atmospheres, so that the educated people can receive education in the influence and infection of traditional spiritual culture. University culture is a fertile soil for educating people, and the valuable resources contained in the history culture of the university bear an important function of educating people, and it is conducive to the formation of a unified value pursuit and cultural identity throughout the university[3].
(1) Enriching the School History Venues Highlighting the Spirit of the University As a material carrier, the School History Museum collects the connotations of the school's development history, school-running characteristics, and cultural heritage in a unified venue for display, which is not only one of the important places for the school to carry out school history and school sentiment and cultural education internally, but also an important window for the school to undertake visits and other activities, so it is of great significance to build a venue with rich connotations and display rich school history. Built in 2007, the History Museum of the University of Science and Technology Beijing was built on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of its founding, and underwent two renovations and renovations on the 60th and 65th anniversaries of the school, adhering to the school's fine tradition of "strict study style and advocating practice," demonstrating the magnificent course of the founding of the "iron and steel power," interpreting the spirit of the school motto of "seeking truth and being new," and setting up a school history museum interpretation group (student club) to serve the daily visits to the school history museum Staff and workers will also go to the school history museum to understand the school history and school conditions, through a large number of historical materials, influences and physical displays, so that teachers and students can deeply understand the history and culture of the school. At present, the school history museum has become an important base for teachers and students to receive education in school history, patriotism, and life values.
(2) Optimize the architectural landscape and strengthen cultural identity The architectural landscape is a cultural symbol with the characteristics of colleges and universities, which reflects the cultural identity of the campus through landmark buildings such as sculptures, buildings, and buildings, and with the continuous development of the school, the architectural landscape will also move and increase. These landscapes are permeated with the historical and cultural elements of the school, which have been given a specific meaning by the times. The Taishan Stone at the West Gate of the University of Science and Technology Beijing was carried from Mount Tai'an City by the Tai'an Municipal People's Government and its alumni after arduous hardships on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the founding of the school. There are many campus cultural landscapes with distinct disciplinary characteristics, such as the famous "Asian Forging Hammer", which was settled on June 19, 2008 and has gone through 13 years, which is a perfect witness to the history of human forging technology and art, and is a memorial and recognition of the history and technology of traditional Chinese special steel material processing and manufacturing. In 1979, the school established a cooperative relationship with RWTH Aachen University in Germany, which was the first Chinese institution of higher learning to establish cooperative relations with foreign universities after the reform and opening up, and was a milestone in the international exchanges between Chinese universities. Standing here, this campus landscape reminds people of this exciting history and achieves the purpose of cultural identity.
(III) Enrich the Second Classroom and Create High-Quality Activities Campus cultural activities with diverse forms, health and upliftment, and elegant style are the second classroom for educating people, and colleges and universities should dig deep into the school history and school conditions, combine it with the characteristics of the school discipline, and create a cultural high-quality activity with a clear orientation for educating people and the essence of school history. Under the guidance of the new spiritual quality of seeking truth from the University of Science and Technology Beijing, the University of Science and Technology Beijing has paid attention to the construction of a practical education system in the process of the second classroom, opened courses such as "social practice of college students," and organized young teachers to go deep into the frontline to carry out study, scientific research, and off-the-job exercises. The tradition of the Saishihui that began in the 1950s has also been continued today in the form of "traditional culture festivals" and "drama festivals", and these high-quality cultural education activities that integrate the excellent traditional Chinese culture and the essence of school history culture have attracted wide attention from teachers and students.
(4) Strengthen the study of school history and display the culture of school history The study of school history and culture is a summary and summary of the development process of the school, which inevitably reflects the law of education and the law of personnel training, and can reflect the situation of school culture construction [4]. The establishment of a special school history and culture research institution to sort out and study the school's cultural value and cultural heritage, compile a series of books on school history, shoot school history propaganda films, sort out the alumni resource database, add school history and culture courses, and display important fragments of the school's development history to students and all faculty and staff are important measures to enhance the theory and readability of school history. In the course of studying the history and culture of the university, the University of Science and Technology Beijing has produced many outstanding literary and artistic works, including the original school history drama "Burning," "Blooming," and "Rushing Currents," which vividly reproduced the touching deeds of Wei Shoukun, Ke Jun, Xiao Jimei, and other masters of learning, who made patriotic dedication and pursued the truth, vividly interpreted the school's attitude of being down-to-earth and hard-working, revolutionizing the old and new in its studies, the fine tradition of rigorous study style and advocating practice, and the touching sentiment of taking the country as the responsibility and pursuing excellence, which played an important educational function and produced strong social repercussions.
