Sci.) published the latest research results of Dr. Luo Xiao of the Department of Materials Physics, School of Mathematics and Optoelectronic Engineering, Hubei Institute of Automotive Industry: "Remarkably enhanced photocatalytic H2evolution via construction of Ti0.5Ru0.5O2/TiO2(B)/TiO2(A) three-phase-junctions". Dr. Luo Xiao is the first author, and the main work of the dissertation was completed by him during his doctoral period.

Photocatalytic technology, which converts solar energy into hydrogen, is one of the most promising strategies for solving energy and environmental problems. In this research work, a novel Ti0.5Ru0.5O2/TiO2(B)/TiO2(A) three-phase composite was prepared by solvothermal method and calcination method. The hydrogen production rate of the material is up to 27.817 mmol ∙g-1∙h-1. It was found that Ti0.5Ru0.5O2 solid solution showed better catalytic effect than metal Ru and RuO2, which could accelerate the production and quenching of hydroxyl radicals and effectively enhance hydrogen production activity. This work is of great reference value for the design of high-performance photocatalysts.

In September 2021, the famous physics journal Chinese Journal of Physics (Chin. J. Phys.) published online the research paper "Spin-sensitive charge oscillation in a single-molecule transistor" by Wang Pengchao, a 2020 master's student in the Engineering College of Mathematics and Optoelectronics, Hubei Institute of Automotive Industry. Based on the numerical reorganization group method, this paper explores the spin-sensitive charge oscillation behavior of single-molecule transistor models under strong electron-electron interaction, which is highly evaluated by the reviewers.

In May 2021, Materials &amp; Design ( Top Journal of Chinese Academy of Sciences , IF=6.289 ) published a joint research paper by the School of Materials Science of Hubei Institute of Automotive Industry and the Finite Element Laboratory of Ghent University in Belgium, entitled Induced Stress Formation in AA2024 monocrystal and bicrystals using Crystal Plasticity Finite Element Method。 Associate Professor Zhao Qi of the School of Materials Science of Hubei Automobile Institute is the first author of the article, and Professor Magd Abdel Wahab of the Department of Engineering of Ghent University in Belgium is the corresponding author of the article. Other participants in the collaborative research include Ling Yong, a researcher in the Department of Engineering at Ghent University in Belgium, and Professor Liu Zhiyi, from the School of Materials Sciences, Central South University.

Aluminum alloy materials have played an irreplaceable role in the lightweight of aviation and transportation equipment, and the study of fatigue properties has always been an important topic. Associate Professor Zhao Qi's paper systematically studies the formation rules of grains of different orientations and grain boundary stresses from the perspective of alloy orientation design by using the crystal plastic finite element method based on dislocation theory, and proposes the ideal orientation argument that Goss and Cube orientation are effective to alleviate internal stress, which has important guiding significance for the processing design of Al-Cu-Mg alloys with high fatigue performance.
