Ducati pays tribute to F1 legend Elton Senna with the launch of a limited-edition Monster to commemorate the Brazilian racer's extraordinary career and the legacy he left behind. The limited production quantity is 341 to commemorate Senna's achievements: 3 represents the number of times he won the world championship in F1 and 41 is the number of times he won the F1 Grand Prix.
F1 legend Elton Senna, who has been close to Ducati since 1990, the Monster Senna Special Edition celebrates the strong relationship between Ducati and the Brazilian champion. It's a shared passion between two racing legends, and Ducati still maintains that connection to this day through its partnership with the Senna family and Senna Brands. This collaboration resulted in a special livery designed by Ducati Centro Stile.
The choice of the Monster as the base model for this limited edition is also closely linked to the history of Ayrton, who was one of the first owners to own the Monster 900, which he used for his movements in Monte Carlo and rode himself at the 1993 Monaco F1 Grand Prix gala. Ayrton liked the Monster's simple design philosophy, which prioritized riding pleasure, including a sporty engine, a road-ready frame, wide handlebars, and a classic fairing-less look.
Ducati's paths first crossed paths with Elton Senna in 1990, when Ducati boss Claudio Castiglioni gifted the three-time world champion an 851 SP. In the years that followed, Senna and Ducati discovered that they shared many common values, and when Senna saw the new Ducati 916 in person, he was intrigued, and the special project that brought the Ducati and Senna brands together was born.
The result was the Ducati 916 Senna, whose livery was chosen by the Brazilian rider himself, opting for a pattern of contrasting graphite grey, matte black and red, which became a classic in the years that followed. Limited to just 300 units, this limited edition series was officially launched by Ducati in March 1994.
The tragic accident that occurred after Senna's death occurred a few months before the start of production of the Ducati 916 Senna, all operations related to the Ayrton were stopped, but then discussions between Ducati and the Senna family led to the decision to continue the project in honor of Senna, which was unveiled at the 1994 motorcycle show.
The first collections sold out in a very short period of time, followed by two ramp-ups in 1997 and 1998 by Senna's brother Leonardo Senna.

The aesthetic of the Monster Senna, in addition to the special livery, adds yellow/green/blue labels on the black spokes made especially for this model, as well as the use of yellow on the brake calipers and Termignoni-certified carbon fiber mufflers. Other unique elements of this model include special seats, matching engine guards, and an exclusive dashboard animation that activates when ignition.

Finally, each motorcycle is unique due to the name plate and model number on the tripod, and comes with a certificate and a dedicated motorcycle cover.
The Monster Senna is equipped with components that not only enhance the appearance but also improve the dynamics, making it a benchmark for lightweight with a dry weight of 175 kg, which is 4 kg lighter than the standard model, and the weight reduction will come from the addition of Termignoni carbon fiber tubes, Brembo Stylema front calipers, forged wheels and other accessories.
