Ding Yiming, a former spokesman for the administrative organs of the Taiwan authorities, was denounced by Taipei City Councilors Wang Hongwei and Hou Hanting for violating the "Food Safety Law" because of the "beef noodle gaffe." Taiwan media reported that at 2:30 p.m. on November 29, Ding and his lawyer went to the Zhongzheng No. 1 Branch of the Taipei Police to make a record, which is now being interrogated by the "Criminal Bureau."

Ding Yiming accused the winner of the 2020 Taipei Beef Noodle Festival for using a U.S. beef containing ractopamine (clenbuterol), which violated the "Social Order Maintenance Law", but Taiwan's "Criminal Bureau" recently refused to accept the case on the grounds that there was no "evil, false or harmful". However, on November 16, Taipei City Councillors went to the Taipei District Prosecutor's Office to report that he had violated the "Food Safety Law", and the First Branch of the Central Committee of the People's Republic of China recently issued a notice, but Ding Yiming arrived at the police station in advance and is now being interrogated by the "Criminal Bureau" agents.
Article 46-1 of the current Food Safety and Sanitation Management Law in Taiwan was an additional article published on June 12 last year, which reads: "Whoever disseminates rumors or false information about food safety and is sufficiently harmful to the public or others shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not more than 3 years, criminal detention or a fine of not more than NT$1 million." ”
