On December 10-19, 2019, at the invitation of Nagoya University and Fukuoka University Hospital in Japan, Associate Professor Fan Song went to Japan for a 10-day academic exchange. Nagoya University is One of Japan's top and world-class research-oriented comprehensive national universities, the highest institution of learning in central Japan, and has produced six Nobel Laureates. Nagoya University Affiliated Hospital hosted the symposium on basic and translational research on tumors, and the conference also invited scholars from the United States, the United Kingdom and Japan to discuss the current basic and clinical research on the precision diagnosis and treatment of tumors, and the participating experts made wonderful speeches and fierce discussions. Associate Professor Fan Song reported the latest results of the solid tumor immunotherapy study in collaboration with the Massachusetts Department of Cancer Surgery at Harvard University, "Panhistone deacetylase inhibitor promotes the antitumor effects of B7-H3-specific CAR-T cells in solid tumors", which was highly praised and discussed by the participating experts. At the same time, Associate Professor Fan Song and some of the participating experts were also invited to participate in the Science Cafe held by the Department of Neurosurgery of Nagoya University Hospital, with medical students and local high school teachers and students, and had extensive exchanges with medical students and high school students on the current research hotspots of medicine and other subjects.
In addition, Associate Professor Fan Song was invited to Fukuoka University Hospital to communicate with young and middle-aged surgeons in fukuoka on the surgical treatment and basic research of head and neck cancer, and reported on the complex and difficult cases of surgical treatment of head and neck tumors carried out in recent years, as well as the advanced original surgical treatment methods of his and his team: FIPELS technology for the precise repair and reconstruction of tongue cancer half tongue and sub-full tongue and total tongue defects; Honeycomb technology and ICG for the preparation of ultra-thin anterior lateral femoral flap; Prospective studies of endoscopic-assisted parotid surgery on transcranial auricular sulcus path and endoscopic-assisted early oral cancer (cT1-2N0) selective cervical lymphatic dissection for intramandibular path; This exchange fully reflected the efforts and achievements made by Associate Professor Fan Song in clinical and basic research, and was highly praised and unanimously recognized by the participating experts, and laid a good foundation for future cooperation between the two sides in clinical and basic research.
