An interpretation of Tagore's poem "Family"

author:People return to middle age

The following is the first article in Tagore's poetry collection Crescent, "The Family"

The silent field, lying there silently.

This is a translation of Tagore's poetry collection by Bing xin and others. In the last paragraph of the above-mentioned excerpt of "Family", I can't understand why Tagore wrote it this way, what he wanted to express, I can't understand it. Then I went to see the original version, and found that my English level was not enough, and like Chinese, I could not understand it.

I was too persistent, so I sent the original English version of the last paragraph to an American (a colleague who used to work) and asked him to help me translate it into Chinese.

The translation is as follows:

Finally, it made sense, and it turned out to be so!

When I wrote about home above, my understanding was that home is the habitat of the soul. After reading Tagore's poem, I feel even more empathetic!

He used the word loneliness many times in the poem, in this world, we are all walking alone, when the sunset, the endless darkness and loneliness surround us, such emotions are so deep, so wide, at this moment, I see the infinite number of houses with lights in the distance, and the countless young lives, and the love of countless mothers, and all this makes me jump out of that deep loneliness, which may be the meaning and value of home to us as individuals!

Attached is the original English version:

Thank you to my colleagues for helping me translate! Another: I am not a professional, if there is any impropriety, I hope to understand!
