I have been to Lu Xun's former residence many times, and when I read the books he has read, I can mention his bookcase. Mr. Big is a young master-level figure, in addition to the family house is particularly large, naturally it is indispensable to the new things of those years. At that time, the audience and scholars sought after the ten jingzi boxes designed by the Shanghai Tongshu Bureau when printing the Twenty-Four Histories, and each box could be moved and merged. Whether it is Lu Xun's home or his teacher, Mr. Shou Jingwu's home, that is, the Sanwei Book House, there are such ten scenery and twenty-four history book boxes, similar to the bookcases in our homes today. In the display case of the Lu Xun Memorial Hall in Shaoxing, there are also mr. Da's reading notes and books he has read, including "The Tale of the West Chamber" and "Dream of the Red Chamber". As for foreign works, I am not deeply impressed, which is very strange. I don't know if I was fruitless or if I didn't pay attention, but I was not impressed. It wasn't until this book " The Stone of His Mountain: A Hundred Foreign Works Read by Lu Xun " appeared in front of me that I realized that there was another side of Mr. Da that I didn't know, so I was very curious about what books he had read and how he had achieved a Mr. Lu Xun who stood tall in the sky.
The title of the book, "The Stone of His Mountain", comes from the Book of Poetry, Xiaoya Heming: "The Stone of His Mountain can attack jade", which is a metaphor for people or opinions who can help them correct their shortcomings. Mr. Da once said that he was able to create short stories, relying on about a hundred foreign works that he had read before. These more than 140 works are arranged in great detail in the form of tables in Appendix I of the book. Among them, 38 foreign masterpieces were divided into four parts and selected into the "Stone of His Mountain". It is said that "The Stone of His Mountain" has been brewing for thirty years, and now we finally see this book that reveals the secret of Mr. Big's creation. When we compare Mr. Lu Xun's works, we can find many clues about the same work, such as Mr. Da and Gogol's "Diary of a Madman", A Q and Yakakievich, "Social Drama" and "Former People", "Who" and "Death". However, leaving aside all this, it is also quite interesting that we can regard this book as a collection of foreign novels recommended by Lu Xun. There are not many novels compiled from this perspective, and they are full of innovative consciousness.

The design of the whole book is full of Lu Xun elements, full of details, I like it. Whether it is the overall color of the book or the texture of the cover, there is a sense of simplicity and obsolescence, like the bricks and tiles of old Shaoxing, like the color system of the black canopy boat on the river that crosses Lu Xun's former residence, and what comes to the face is the rigor and dignity of Mr. Da's governance. The inside and outside of the book are the works of the printmaker Yasunari Tanaka who was active from the end of Taisho to the early Showa period, and Mr. Dai once purchased and collected the prints on the outer cover, "Spring Night". Yasukuni Tanaka loves to depict the essence beneath the surface of urban prosperity, and Mr. Dai once wrote an inscription to recommend it to young people. I wonder if you have been amazed by the decorative details in the book, the lace drawn by Mr. Big himself? He not only designed the emblem of Peking University, but I have personally seen his class notes when he was studying medicine, and I have been infected by his delicate painting style. In short, the appearance of the book is also very much in line with the content of the book.
