"This is a novel about love and about growing up, and the characters in the book have experienced how difficult it is to grow up, they grow up mottled, light and darkness are intertwined, this is another kind of 'ukiyo-e'." Mu Tao, chairman of the Xi'an Writers Association, commented on "The Rest of My Life is Good".
On the afternoon of the 19th, the new book sharing meeting of Shaanxi young writer Wang Jie's new novel "The Rest of My Life is Good" was held in Xi'an.
"The Rest of My Life is Good" is an urban emotional tragicomedy set in the ancient city of Xi'an, a love duet that alternates light and dark, tragedy and joy, and is a long family ethics novel with great life heritage and realism. Through delicate brushstrokes and profound insights, the author depicts the bumpy journey of a group of young people from campus to society, as well as their choices and growth between ideals and reality, career and family, marriage and morality.
At the sharing meeting, Yi Zhou, deputy editor-in-chief of Yanhe, said that the previous writers in Shaanxi Province expressed more in local literature, while Wang Jie's generation of young writers came up with their own works, and paid more attention to the city, and they dealt with the complexity of the transformation from the countryside to the city in their works, which is not only the transfer of geographical space, but also the transfer of the spiritual level.
Wang Jie said that all our lives are inseparable from love, but embodied in literary works, virtual works cannot be distorted, "In the creation of novels, through continuous observation and portrayal of characters, I have learned to love everyone and forgive everyone, which is the greatest meaning of harvest." In fact, several of the novels I have written are archetypal, and many of them are written around love. Because women can't do without marriage and love, a few female friends chat, talking about marriage, will always be very melancholy, everyone is most confused is the joys, sorrows and sorrows that marriage brings to them, I think the writer is the storyteller, and what I can do is to reflect on and record the proposition of the troubles brought about by the lives of female compatriots, so that readers can achieve empathy through my words, warmth, I hope that all people trapped in emotions have prayers and blessings. ”
Mu Tao believes that this is a coming-of-age novel, everyone in the book is a bitter one, the author has created another ukiyo-e, the various states encountered by the people at the bottom of the society, the slow-paced pain is vividly written, the novel focuses on the difficulties of life, but also through such a story, pays attention to the progress of society. Mu Tao said that the power of literary works is very limited, but the greatest power of literature is to give people warmth, to give people enlightenment, the glimmer of cold nights, can always give people hope, this is the meaning of "The Rest of My Life is Good", but also the meaning of literature.
Yi Zhou very much agrees with Mu Tao's point of view, believing that the characters in the novel "are all rolling in the dust and imprinted", and "the rest of your life is good" is the kindness of a writer's dedication, which makes the tone of the novel and even life full of warm and overall intentions. He pointed out that Wang Jie is honestly writing about people's normal feelings, writing about people's yearning for a better life, and also writing about people being coerced by their own desires, which is not a kind of return to basics.
