Hangzhou, October 12 (Guo Qiyu) "I drank halfway and found that there were worms in the milk tea! "I will definitely pursue it to the end, and I must be compensated"... From September 2020 to April 2021, Li Huan (pseudonym) and his friends bought milk tea in milk tea shops in Guangzhou, Shanghai, Hangzhou and other places, put bugs in them, threatened the store with threats and other means of exposure, and demanded high compensation.
The reporter learned from the Hangzhou Gongshu District People's Procuratorate on the 12th that the court filed a public prosecution against the defendant Li Huan and 4 other people for the crime of extortion. After investigation, at least 7 milk tea shops have been extorted, with a total amount of 92,000 yuan.
Li Huan, a 23-year-old who dropped out of high school in his second year of high school, worked in a milk tea shop and has been idle since leaving his job, with no financial income. Thinking of the business philosophy, internal operation and management model of the milk tea shop, he came up with the above idea of "making quick money" and hit it off with his former colleague Wang Ling (pseudonym), who has also left.
At the end of September 2020, Li Huan asked Wang Ling to buy a drink at a milk tea shop in Hangzhou's Gongshu District. Shortly after leaving the store, Li Huan grabbed a small bug in a nearby park and put it in a cup, and used his mobile phone to take photos and videos of bugs in the drink. After that, Wang Ling called the store.
The store manager expressed his willingness to refund the milk tea and re-make a free cup. Wang Ling refused and insisted on compensation. After that, the store manager said that he could compensate 1,000 yuan according to the maximum compensation standard for food safety, and personally apologized to the door, accompanied Wang Ling to the hospital for examination, and covered all the costs. However, the two threatened to expose the brand reputation to the media and put forward a compensation demand of 50,000 yuan.
In the face of such a high compensation price, the store manager was unable to cope, and asked the superior leader to negotiate. In order to show sincerity and maintain the brand image, the company's executives eventually paid 45,000 yuan.
According to this routine, from the end of November to the beginning of April 2020, Li Huan and three other friends carried out extortion at milk tea shops in Dongguan, Shenzhen and Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, and won 46,000 yuan again.
At the end of April 2021, Li Huan and his friends went to Shanghai to visit and planned to blackmail the milk tea shop in Shanghai. However, the previous frequent claims have aroused the vigilance of the headquarters of the milk tea shop, and 4 people have been arrested after reporting the case to the public security organs.
The procuratorial organs held that Li Huan and four other people extorted other people's property for the purpose of illegal possession, and the amount was huge, which constituted the crime of extortion. (End)
