Shao Chongyu and Xiao Yuanyi reported: From October 16 to 17, the 2021 "Huatuo Cup" National Acupuncture and Tuina Clinical Skills Competition, sponsored by the Chinese Acupuncture Society and the National Association of Higher Education in Traditional Chinese Medicine, and undertaken by Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, was held in Chengdu. Nearly 300 players from 33 teams from traditional Chinese medicine colleges and universities across the country participated in the competition. Under the coordination of the Academic Affairs Office and other functional departments, the School of Acupuncture and Tuina of Jiangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine went through organizational mobilization, individual registration, on-campus preliminary competition, centralized training, and the combination of training and examination, which lasted for 4 months and identified 8 players. In the end, the school won the third prize of the group and the excellent organization award; the clinical teacher group Xu Wei won the third prize of the tuina individual single award, Xiao Yuanyi and Shen Yang all won the individual excellence award; and the student group Hu Wanchun, Ding Wenjie and Chen Yanqi all won the individual excellence award.
Before the competition, Principal Zhu Weifeng personally visited the training site, visited the contestants and instructors, and always emphasized the goal of "promoting learning with competition, promoting teaching with competition, and combining learning with competition". Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee Zhao Hengbo and Vice President Liu Qian have repeatedly encouraged players to build confidence, adjust their mentality, and devote themselves to pre-game training and official competitions.
Through this competition, the school will learn the lessons learned in the competition, sort out its own shortcomings, strengthen the daily training of teachers and students' theoretical knowledge and practical skills, and put this work into the usual classroom teaching and clinical teaching, improve the comprehensive level, and strive to achieve better results in future competitions.
