The poet Yu Guangzhong died at the age of 90

According to the Phoenix Network, Yu Guangzhongyuan only thought that the weather was changeable and the temperature was low, and decided to stay in the hospital after examination, but he did not expect that there was a suspected small stroke, lung infection, and transfer to the intensive care unit. Born in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, Yu Guangzhong studied in the Department of Foreign Languages of Jinling University (later transferred to Xiamen University) and graduated from the Department of Foreign Languages of National Taiwan University in 1952. He received a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Iowa (LOWA) in 1959. He taught at Soochow University, Normal University, National Taiwan University, and National Chengchi University in Taiwan, and was the dean of the Faculty of Letters at Sun Yat-sen University in Taiwan. He has won all the important awards in Taiwan, including the Wu Sanlian Literature Award, the China Times Award, the Golden Tripod Award, the National Literary and Art Award, etc., and has published more than 40 kinds of poems and translations.

Engaged in literary creation for more than half a century, Yu Guangzhong can be said to represent the trend of Taiwan's poetry circle for more than thirty years - first Westernization and then return. As a teenager, as he himself put it, the poetic style was as follows: "The tip of the pen is stained either by the aftermath of Heatunkling or by the water of the Thames." The wines produced are nothing more than those from 1842. After the 1980s, recognizing the importance of his own ethnic residence to creation, Yu Guangzhong "extended his gaze back to that continent", and there were many emotional nostalgic poems in his creation, which were called "prodigal sons of return" by the Taiwanese poetry circle.

His poem "Nostalgia" is the most well-known to mainland readers, and this poem in the former residence of Xiamen Street in Taipei with only 20 minutes of "one swing" was adapted by Taiwanese singer Yang Xian into 8 poems such as "Nostalgia", "Four Rhymes of Nostalgia", and "Folk Songs", and was loved by mainland compatriots. In addition to "Nostalgia", Yu Guangzhong has poems such as "The Sorrowful Song of the Boat", "Blue Feathers", "Stalactites", "Halloween", "Association of lotuses", "Five Tombs Teenager", "Night Market of Heaven", "Percussion Music", "In the Cold War Era", "White Jade Bitter Melon", "Sirius", "Tug-of-War with Eternity", etc.; Essay collections "Muse of the Left Hand", "Getaway", "Pastoral God of Hope", "Crane Burning Man", "Listen to the Cold Rain", etc.; Commentaries such as "Rain in the Palm", "On the Watershed", "From Xu Xiake to Van Gogh", "Orderly", "Downstream of Blue Ink". Translations include "The Biography of Van Gogh", "The Old Man and the Sea", "English Poetry Translation" and so on.
