According to foreign media reports, the famous British literature and spy novelist John Le Carré recently died of pneumonia at the age of 89. John Le Carré has published a total of 25 novels in his writing career of more than half a century, and his novels mainly tell the story of spies during the Cold War, such as "Berlin Spy", "Top Criminal", "Cold War Spy", "Pot Maker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy" and so on.

John Le Carré, who worked for MI5 and MI6 in the British intelligence agencies, began his career in the early 1960s with the story of British spy George Smiley, who became famous for his novel Cold War Espionage and was praised by the well-known novelist Greene: "This is the best spy novel I've ever read!" Since then, it has established its status as a master of literature. In 2019, Le Carré published his 25th novel, Agent Running in the Field.

The death of John Le Carré sparked mourning from all walks of life, and the BBC issued an obituary: "Le Carré stripped away the charm and romance in the '007 Series' and turned around to explore the real dark and dirty life of professional spies." Stephen King, a well-known American writer and Hollywood gold-medal screenwriter, said: "This terrible year has taken away a literary giant and a humanitarian. ”
