Ordinary people are often flustered and sad, and only those with deep cultivation can deal with it calmly. How can we have this kind of self-realization and cultivation? Wang Yangming has a saying: People must grind in things to be able to stand; only then can they be still and fixed, and can they move and be fixed. Hardships and hardships are the best tempering of the mind.

Third, with a strong heart, you can be invincible

A disciple asked Wang Yangming if he had a specific skill in using soldiers. Wang Yangming replied, "Where there are any skills, just try to do learning, and cultivate this heart without moving." If there is a skill, then this immobility is the only skill. Everyone's wisdom is almost the same, and the decision between victory and defeat is only in this heartbeat or not. Why is "this mind not moving" the only trick? Because the heart does not move to be calm, calm can be calm, calm can be normal in the face of crisis or even extraordinary play, the so-called emergency wisdom.

Everything about skill, it seems to look smart, in fact, it is the small cleverness of speculators. Only the truly wise will find a source to rely on and honestly do kung fu. This is what Lao Tzu called "great coincidence." How to do kung fu? Wang Yangming pointed out that we should strive to do research. For talent and cultivation, although reading and learning is not the only way, it must be an indispensable road.

Fourth, conform to your own nature and maintain your conscience

Wang Yangming saw a sitting monk in a temple, and it is said that he has been sitting silently for three years. Wang Yangming asked him, "Who else is in the family?" The monk replied, "And the old mother." Wang Yangming asked again, "Miss her?" The monk was silent, there was silence, and the sound of sweat flowing from the monk's head could be heard. Finally, the monk broke the dead silence and replied in a guilty tone, "How can you not miss it?" Wang Yangming gently waved his hand to the monk and said, "Go, go home and take care of your mother." The next day, the monk left the temple and returned to earth.

This meditating monk had obviously not said anything for three years, and Wang Yangming saw that the monk did not say or look on the surface, but in his heart he was talking and watching all day long. What is said and seen is the conflict between desperate desire and man's natural conscience. Wang Yangming actually said a word to him: Only by conforming to his own nature and obeying his conscience is he a person and is in harmony with the Tao. It is not to seek a word elsewhere that overrides all things in the human heart. That's not the Word, it's delusion.

It is enough to live well, to be a good person, to hear the voice of goodness in one's heart, and to listen to the call of conscience in one's heart.

Fifth, true light exists only in the heart

Wang Yangming had a disciple named Xu Fan, who was sure that he had understood Wang Yangming's mind during the meditation and obtained the true meaning. Wang Yangming asked him to give an example, Xu Fan excitedly held up an example, he gave one, Wang Yangming denied one. There were more than a dozen such examples, and Xu Fan was quite frustrated. Wang Yangming pointed out to him: You are too attached to things. Xu Fan did not understand. Wang Yangming pointed to the light of the candles in the boat and said, "This is the light." Then he pointed to the lake outside the boat, which was illuminated by candlelight, and said, "This is also light." Then point to the point of view: "This is still light." Xu Fan was dazed at first, but soon became excited and said, "Teacher, I understand." Wang Yangming said: "Don't cling, the light is not only on the candle, remember this." ”

Candles can shine, but light is not only on candles, but also on the sun, on the moon, on torches. If there is light in the heart, then the light is everywhere, because your mind is already the sun, the light, illuminating all things. This is what Wang Yangming wants to tell us. If all a person sees in his eyes is darkness, then it is not that there is something wrong with the world, but that there is no light in his heart, but that there is something wrong with his mentality. Seeing this and trying to reverse it, then the light is not far away.

Sixth, all idealism is made

One spring, Wang Yangming and his friends went to the mountains to play. The friend pointed to a flower between the rocks and said to Wang Yangming, "You often say that there is no reason outside the heart, and there is nothing outside the heart." Everything under heaven is in your heart, under the control of your heart. You see this flower, opening and falling in the mountains, can your mind control it? Is it true that your heart let it open and it opens; your heart let it fall, and it only falls? Wang Yangming replied, "When you do not look at this flower, this flower and Ru Xin end up in silence; when you come to see this flower, the color of this flower is understood for a while; you know that this flower is not outside your heart." ”

Of course, flowers bloom and fall by themselves, but whether they can disturb my heart or not is up to me. Even if the sky is falling apart, the flood is terrible, the lightning and thunder are thunderous, and the rainstorm is great, as long as my heart is safe, I will always be in the peach blossom garden and the sunny day. This is the so-called "universal idealism." All the problems of the mind, when they reach the root, are actually only the problems of the mind itself. No matter how sinister the world is, as long as my heart is not moving, I will not be able to do anything.
