Sitting Bull, also known as Sitting Bull, was the leader of the Sioux Indians of North America in the 19th century. Known for his bravery and good fighting, he was hailed as a hero by Native Americans in 1876 when Hel led 3,500 Indians to defeat the American 7th Cavalry Brigade, and later killed a brilliant general at the Battle of Bighorn.

One man claimed to be a great-grandson of Hitler Boole, a claim that has been confirmed by DNA extracted from Burr's hair. This is the first time scientists have used ancient DNA to confirm family relationships between living and historical individuals.
It is possible to analyze family lineage using a new method, a technique developed by a team of scientists led by Cambridge University professor Eske Willerslev and the Lundbeck Foundation Centre for Genetics. The findings were published in a recent issue of the journal Science Advances.
The technique looks for "autosomal DNA" in gene fragments extracted from human samples. Since half of our autosomal DNA comes from the father and half from the mother, this means that genetic matching can be checked whether the ancestors are paternal or maternal. The autosomal DNA from Boer's hair was compared to DNA samples from the man named Ernie Lapoint and other Sioux people. The results of the analysis confirmed that Rapoint was Boole's great-grandson and his most direct descendant.
La pointe said: "Over the years, a lot of people have tried to question my relationship with my sisters. La point to La pointer that Bull's remains are currently located at a site in Mobridge, South Dakota, that has no apparent connection to Bull and the culture he represents. He is also concerned about the care of the cemetery. There are two official cow cemeteries in Fort Yates in North Dakota and Mobridge in South Dakota, both hosting visitors.
With DNA evidence to support his claimed blood ties, Rappoint now hopes to reburipe the remains of the great Native American leader in a more appropriate location.
This new technique can be used in situations where genetic data is very limited, and this study is just that. This work paves the way for similar DNA tests, testing the relationship between other long-lost historical figures and their possible descendants. The technology could also be used to answer important questions based on old human DNA that might have previously been considered too degenerate to be analyzed.
Professor Willerslev said: "In principle, you can investigate outlaws like Jesse James or even anyone of the Russian tsarist family. If old DNA extracted from bones, hair, or teeth can be found, they can also be tested in the same way to find the descendants of these historical figures. ”
It took scientists 14 years to extract useful DNA from a 5- to 6-centimeter-long hair in Boolean. A bunch of Boole's hair, which was preserved at room temperature at the Smithsonian Museum in Washington for more than a century, was severely degraded and was finally returned to Laporte and his sisters in 2007. It's these hairs that give scientists the opportunity to analyze DNA.
This technique differs from traditional DNA analysis methods, which look for genetic matches between specific DNA in the Y chromosome and DNA inherited in male lines, or genetic matches of specific DNA in mitochondria. Neither is particularly reliable, and in this case neither can be used to prove that La pointe is a descendant of Boole.
Originally known as Tatanka Iyotanka, the "Sitting Bull" led 1,500 Sioux fighters at the Battle of Little Bighorn in 1876, wiping out General Castor and five companies of soldiers. This feat, also known as the "Battle of the Greasy Grass," will forever symbolize native Americans' desire for insatiable resistance to the white empire.
"Bull has been my hero since I was a kid. I admire his courage and drive. "I wrote to La Pointe and explained that I was preoccupied with analyzing ancient DNA, that I was a man of worship of The Bull, and that if I could compare the DNA of La Pointe and his sisters with the DNA of the hair of the Indian leaders, and confirm that they were the descendants of the Bulls, I would consider it a great honor." ”
Prior to this study, the family relationship between La Pointe and the seated bull was based on a review of birth and death certificates, family trees and historical records. This new genetic analysis provides further evidence to confirm his claims. Before the remains of the Mowbridge cemetery can be reburied elsewhere, they must be analyzed in a similar way to hair samples to ensure that Boole matches his offspring's genes.
In China, many people are proud to be the descendants of ancient heroes, heroes, literary heroes or emperors, and there are large and small ancestral halls and temples all over the country, and if we can also use this DNA technology to confirm the connection between ourselves and our ancestors, perhaps we will gain stronger self-confidence and a stronger sense of belonging.
