In the 100 years since its publication, the Rite of Spring is undoubtedly the pinnacle of the dance world, and the music composed by Igor Stravinsky has been voted the first of the 50 works that have had the greatest impact on the history of Western music. Yang Liping's "Spring Sacrifice" tells the story of a god who became a man after falling into red dust because of his compassionate heart, and then became a god beyond fate because of the spirit of human willing dedication, a cycle of fate from god to man.
Yang Liping said: "I have a standard in mind when I create, that is, to have Chinese characteristics, there are many images of the East of China in the play, such as the lama who is constantly walking, and the six-character proverbs that are piled up like mountains. ”
The stage design of "Spring Festival" was performed by Ye Jintian, the winner of the 73rd Academy Award for Best Art Direction, who insisted on adopting a strong oriental style in the play. The music of "Spring Festival" is composed by He Xuntian, a composer who has composed records such as "Sister Drum" and "Yangjinma", and is expanded to 75 minutes based on the approximately 40-minute music length of the original work.
Yang Liping's "Spring Festival" has toured many countries and cities in Russia, Australia and other countries.
This year, Yang Liping is 61 years old. From the fame of "Spirit of the Sparrow" in 1986 to the present, the works have continued to be praised as the evergreen tree of the dance world. She once said, "Dance is my way of life." (End)
