On Wednesday (Oct. 27), new York City Police Department Shay said the NYPD would "very likely" have a shortage of personnel next week, ABC7NY reported.

Shay noted that the NYPD is working to get more employees vaccinated against COVID-19, and as of Tuesday (Oct. 27), about 73 percent of NYPD employees had received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine.

It is reported that the COVID-19 vaccination injunction for New York City employees will take effect next Monday (November 1), while more than 160,000 Employees of the New York City Government will be vaccinated with at least one dose of COVID-19 before 5 p.m. on Friday (October 30).

Shay said the NYPD is preparing for possible contingencies, such as overtime and two shifts, to cope with hundreds or thousands of officers being furloughed without pay due to covid-19 vaccination injunctions. (Original title: Shay: Police station "very likely" due to vaccine order shortage)
