The world's finest winery for sweet and white
Located in the Wittingen region of the Mosel appellation, Château Ium Eimu produces elegant, delicate and delicate Riesling wines, representing the most classic German Riesling style, and is the best Riesling wine in Germany and the world.
Dating back around 700 years to Sankt Maria von Trier, Château Ium Ium d'Imour is located on a hill called Scharzhofberg near the town of Wittingen.
In 1794, French troops conquered Germany and occupied the entire wine-rich Rhine River region, and the vast vineyards owned by the church and nobles were confiscated for auction.
In 1797, Jean-Jacques Koch, the great-grandfather of the current owner, Egon Muller IV, took the opportunity to buy the winery.
After Koch's death, the vineyards were divided equally among his seven children. His daughter Elisabeth was married to Felix Muller and bought many vineyards in addition to the vineyards they acquired through inheritance.
By around 1850, the vineyard area had expanded to about twice as large as before. In 1887, the father-in-law of Elizabeth's second son, Egon Müller I, bought the rest of the estate (the property in the hands of Koch's other children).
Subsequently, he expanded Château Imus through the acquisition of wineries and vineyards and continued to improve the quality of his wines. Since 1985, Müller IV has been learning to run the winery with his father.
It was not until 1991 that Müller III formally handed over the management of the estate to Müller IV. To this day, the winery is owned by the family.
The well-deserved "King of German Riesling"
As we all know, wine grapes are generally grown in the range between 30-50 degrees latitude. As a result, Germany is arguably the northernmost wine region in the world.
Although the cold climate is not suitable for growing red grape varieties, white grapes have excellent performance in this extreme condition, of which Riesling is even more unique.
伊慕酒庄生产的雷司令无疑是德国最好的雷司令,逐粒精选甜酒(Trockenbeerenauslese,简称 TBA)中的王者。
Château Imu tBA wines are produced between 100-200 bottles per year. Scarce things are precious, and every year at auction, the Riesling white wines of the Imu Winery always fetch amazingly high prices, so the Riesling wines of the Imu Winery have also won the reputation of "king of German Riesling".
In addition, Imu TBA is also listed in the "Rare Wines - World's Top 100 Wines" by Professor Chen Xinmin, a famous Wine Writer in Taiwan, and in 1975, Imu TBA was also included in "The World's 100 Most Precious Wines".
The most expensive sweet white wine in the world
According to the latest data from Wine-Searcher, there are currently 4 models in the list of the world's 50 most expensive wines, namely Imu
Ranked 2nd for a selection of dribbles, currently £5,464 per bottle;
Ranked 15th for each wine selection, currently £1,837/bottle;
Eiswein Gold Cap, ranked 16th, is currently £1,749/bottle;
and Eiswein, ranked 25th, is currently £1,449 per bottle.
Of the 50 most expensive wines, Imo TBA is priced second only to domaine de la Romanee-Conti Romanee-Conti Grand Cru, the number one dry red wine.
That is to say, this wine is currently the most expensive sweet white wine in the world. It is worth mentioning that the production of Imud TBA is very rare, with an annual production of only 100-200 bottles (and the production years are very rare); so it is not comparable to the 6,000 bottles of Romani Kande, which has an annual output of 6,000 bottles.
The best wines are often able to cultivate themselves
The winemaking philosophy of Château Imu is the ones that "make themselves", so château Imu is fully respectful of nature and never takes the chaptalisation approach to wine, both in the process of cultivation and winemaking.
As a result, the sugar in the sweet white wines produced by the winery comes entirely from natural accumulation. In order to achieve the ideal ripeness, Château Immeu takes care of it when growing, harvesting and pressing, so that the wines produced never need a clarifying agent to achieve perfect transparency.
PFV, the world's top family alliance
These family members have their own vineyards with unique terroirs, are the world's most prestigious wineries, and all produce the world's most famous and top-notch wines.
Among them, the property of these families is even the proud representative of their country, such as the German wine king Imu, the Italian wine king Siggiaya and the Spanish wine king Begasicilia.
It can be said that it is difficult for any other organization to have such a large appeal and influence as PFV, and Imu can join such an organization, which shows that its strength should not be underestimated.
居高不下的价格与品质
Climatic environment
As we all know, the climate in the German wine region is very harsh, and Immoo Winery has not been defeated by this harsh climate, but has taken full advantage of the dry grain produced in this climate to make top-quality TBA wines, and the high climate risk and the heavy labor involved in picking and selecting grapes have greatly increased the production costs of Imu.
In addition, due to the cold climate in Germany, Riesling mostly grows on the slopes of the Rhine River, where the slope is extremely large, so it is very difficult to grow, which invisibly greatly reduces the yield of grapes.
Someone has roughly calculated: in the same area, 50,000 bottles of expensive wine can be produced in the French Sauer tortoise appellation, while in the Rhine region of Germany, only about 250 bottles can be produced, and if TBA is produced, the number is even smaller, which is an important reason for the high price of wine above the BA grade in Germany.
yield
Château Imus is the rarest in terms of TBA production, with an annual production of only 100-200 bottles. Not comparable to the world's most expensive wine, Romani Kande, with an annual output of 6,000 bottles;
It is even more different from the same precious rotten sweet white but with an annual output of up to 150,000-200,000 bottles of gold.
As the saying goes, things are more expensive than rare, and such a low yield naturally creates a super high price.
More importantly, in addition to the low annual production, the production years of the Imu TBA are even more pitiful.
Although in pursuit of excellent wine quality, many wineries will stop production in ordinary vintages.
However, there is hardly a single winery like Imu, which has produced TBA in only 7 vintages for nearly a century.
Among them, in 2005, the total amount of grape juice produced in one of Imo's vineyards was only 15 liters.
Under normal circumstances, it can only produce 50L.
Consumer groups
Imus Château's TBA is never sold to private buyers, and in fact TBA is extinct in the general market, and the only way to get a TBA is through auctions.
We all know that auctions are full of rich masters, and their spending power can be said to be very different from that of ordinary consumers.
Therefore, as soon as Imu TBA appears, it will be auctioned off at a high price.
palate
Immois's alcohol content is generally only 5.5%-7%, sometimes up to 9%.
German Rieslings, represented by Imour, generally have a tighter acidity, so they taste fresher and brighter, and at the same time complement the sweetness and aroma of the wine.
It can be said that in terms of taste, Imu can meet almost all your requirements for dessert wine.
Collectible year
As mentioned earlier, Imu has produced very few vintages, and there are only 13 extant years currently displayed on Wine-Searcher, each of which is the word "great".
Therefore, each bottle of Imut TBA is extremely collectible and is a true example of sweet white.
