Wenzhou Buddhist legend ~ ~ the first Wenzhou Taishou Xie Lingyun 10th Sun Jiaoran monk who proposed the tea ceremony

Who is Kyaukran? An ordinary monk in the Tang Dynasty. Kyaukran' real name is Xie Qingtian, born and died around 720 AD - about 805 AD, is the tenth grandson of Xie Lingyun, the originator of Chinese landscape poetry, and Kyaukran is his legal name. He was open-minded by nature, not sociable, disgusted with the world's red tape, and once called himself "not wanting to know more, and lazily making a name for himself." Such a sparse person, but a lifelong love for tea, is the most well-known poet monk and tea monk in the Tang Dynasty. Kyaukran was the first person in history to propose the tea ceremony, and he combined Buddhism to describe the connotation of the tea ceremony of "Zen Tea Taste", and for the first time expounded the "way of drinking tea, drinking tea monasticism, drinking tea is the way of the tao" in poetic language, and in the history of the world's tea ceremony, it has the merit of creation.

He was the first to conduct scientific research on experimental tea farms and laboratories. Develop the spiritual function and value of tea. Become a pioneer in actively promoting "tea instead of wine" and taking tea as the wind of drinking. He was the first to advocate, organize and plan the "Tea Tasting Meeting", "Tea Fighting Competition", "Poetry Tea Party", "Guzhu Tea Competition" and "Xixi Poetry Tea Party" are classic cases.

He is the instructor of Tea Saint Lu Yu and an academic partner of Lu Yu's career cooperation and exchange. During the reign of Emperor Suzong of Tang and De, Lu Yu passed through Huzhou and stayed at Myoki Temple, so he became acquainted with Kyaukran. Kyaukran loves tea, Lu Yu is even more a fool in tea, the two talk at night with candles, see each other and hate late, and then become "married to the elderly friend". When Lu Yu wrote the Tea Classic, Kyaukran provided him with convenience in all aspects; even Fu Zi of the Tea Classic relied on Kyaoran's full support. It can be said that he is the main organizer, planner and manager of the system engineering of Lu Yu's "Tea Classic". In a word, he is the creator of the Chinese tea ceremony, the father of the Chinese tea ceremony, and the pathfinder of the "Wind of Buddha Tea" and "Buddha Zen Tea Ceremony".

The moon is like frost, and the wind is like water. At night, Myoki-ji Temple is so quiet and tranquil, the breeze is light over the treetops, and the sound of chanting Buddha is faint in the distance. From the Bao'en Bridge, over the release pool, a pot of tea fragrance, wafting out of the thousands of miles. The heart does not move, so the wind does not move, the leaves do not move, and all things do not move. In Kyaukran's eyes, there is only the bright moon in the sky and the tea in the cup. Whether it is fame and fortune, bells, drums and jade, it is not as good as this cup of tea in your hand. Everything in the world is not haunted, this is the generation of masters of Chinese tea culture.
