Walking into the exhibition hall of Elephant Oriental Wax Art Company located in Ganggang Town, Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province, the wax statues of celebrities from all walks of life will come into view. Zhou Xuerong, the founder of the wax art company, is a arts and crafts artist in Zhongshan City and has been exploring wax art creation for nearly 20 years. Her team now has more than 50 people and has created more than 600 wax figures. According to reports, a wax figure must go through more than a dozen processes such as data collection, modeling design, sculpture, reproduction, coloring, hair transplantation and so on. After a long period of exploration, Zhou Xuerong's team applied new materials such as platinum silicone, epoxy resin, and fine carving oil clay to the production process. Compared with traditional wax figures, it has the characteristics of high simulation texture, easy maintenance, stable physical and chemical properties, not easy to age, and resistant to storage.
As one of the earliest institutions engaged in wax sculpture creation in China, Elephant Oriental has set up wax museums in Guangzhou, Changsha, Xiamen, Lhasa, Lijiang, Dalian and other cities in China and Malaysia. Zhou Xuerong said that her dream is to promote the Chinese national brand wax museum and tell the story of China in the new era through wax art.
