"3×3" Part I The basic concept of pigeon racing is that pigeons are habitual animals to grasp the law of peaks and valleys in a planned manner

"3×3" is a wonderful masterpiece by the late Japanese pigeon world giants Doudou, Shosei and Iwata Seizo. Compared with the 40 articles of "Making and Racing" that I pushed and completed in March this year and Hejing, the 37th of which is missing is a small regret for me. Fortunately, there are only 21 pieces in this work, and they are in a group.

Sometimes people may feel confused about what book to choose for pigeon breeding, or who should listen to so many kinds of statements about the same thing?

I think that reading books should read the works written by those who have a good reputation at an advanced age, so that there will be a relatively high reference value, one is rich in knowledge and experience, and the other is to look down on fame and fortune so dare to write the truth.

There is indeed a shortage of highly talented people in the pigeon world, but some things that seem "right" for a while have not stood the test of time and are not worthy of being passed down as truth.

I feel very lucky to find two works that meet the above requirements to share with you, one is that I want to read it and fill in the notes, and the other is how much I hope it will be useful to everyone.

I will be in the next two months, one after another, interested fanciers can pay attention to it, the first text is as follows:

Introduction to Pigeon Racing The basic view of pigeon racing pigeons is that pigeons are "habit animals" In the breeding of pigeons, experience alone may not be able to improve, and there are many examples of newcomers surpassing veterans in terms of skills.

Some people have been pigeons for three, five years, or even ten years, but they have never paid attention to many details, as if such people are not a minority among pigeon owners.

"3×3" Part I The basic concept of pigeon racing is that pigeons are habitual animals to grasp the law of peaks and valleys in a planned manner

I'm going to divide pigeon racing into two categories, racing and breeding, and then set up some details to talk about my ideas. Of course, what I said may not be correct, and it would be a great honor for the reader to be able to refer to one or two in pigeon racing practice through his own analysis and understanding. So let's start with the competition.

First of all, I would like to talk about my basic ideas and practices for practicing pigeons. It is often said that the pigeons should be strictly managed in a regular manner, and this is also the case, and the pigeons are almost invariably trained in a very regular manner in the lofts with good results. Many lofts improve their performance by strengthening management and flying home in the morning and evening.

Because the pigeon is an animal, the cultivation of its habits is particularly important, and three days of fishing and two days of drying nets cannot play a role in tuning.

Only by repeating the same management model over the years can the pigeon be subtly familiar with the master's teaching, and finally pass on the will of the man to the dove, so that it is to some extent subject to the man's dispatch.

In the management of the loft, we must remember this truth, and it is not possible to grasp and stop without regularity. Pigeon breeders are found in all walks of life, and the time spent on pigeons and the content of management work vary depending on the conditions.

According to the situation of the house, the corresponding procedures can be formulated to manage the pigeons regularly to the extent feasible. After years of perseverance, the pigeon's own abilities will be discovered, and sometimes it may even be supernormal.

be planned

For a loft, planning is very important, and if you don't aim, even if you play occasionally, you can't get good results in a consistent manner.

Pigeon breeders should look forward to at least three or five years of the future of themselves, their pigeons and their lofts, thinking carefully about the training and use of pigeons. Heavy inbreeding is a characteristic of my loft bloodline. So in breeding, we have to take into account ten years later.

If you don't look three or five years, you won't make a big difference in pigeon racing. In terms of breeding, we have to envision what the pigeons will look like in five or ten years, and we have to estimate the race in three or four years. Not only for breeding and racing, but also for all aspects of pigeon racing.

Not only is it important to take a long-term view, but it's also important to plan each season. My loft is quite large and can race all kinds of distances, and with more lofts just a fraction of my size, it is impossible to focus on all the races.

Although there are far fewer races in Japan than in Belgium, there are more than a dozen, and if you want the pigeons to play frequently, you must set the focus of the race. First consider the distance of the first target and then decide which pigeons to send for this race.

Of course, targeting is not always achievable, and sometimes it may be won in subsequent races, because the subjective goal deviates from the actual state of the pigeon. It is very difficult to align the goal with the reality, and the main difficulty is to grasp the timing and rhythm.

I think it doesn't matter if the goal is not achieved, looking at a certain award can win the championship in one fell swoop, that is the realm of celebrities, usually difficult to achieve. As long as you have made efforts for a goal, sooner or later you will see results, either this station or the next station.

grasp the law of peaks and valleys

Pigeon racing is held in 100, 200 km each station, and if the focus is on the first 200 km or 300 km, the pigeons will always be in a state of decline by 700, 800 or 900 km. (This situation is very common is what the Taiwanese say about training "house calling", racing "twittering", training can not be too frequent, let the pigeons over the morning peak, but when it is really time to contribute, but found that there is no strength.) )

Such fluctuations do exist in reality, which is an unavoidable natural phenomenon. The same is true of baseball players, who are often in a good shape after a while. The pigeons reach their peak and achieve results, this state does not last long, and then there is definitely a downward curve, which is due to the physiology of the animals.

Since the family flies and feeds at the same time, the state of the pigeons in the whole shed will also rise and fall at the same time. To avoid this, the old and young pigeons need to be managed separately for dual management. This takes more time and is more difficult for amateur pigeon owners to do.

In order to keep the pigeons in a state of some distance. It is also possible to stagger the time of the home flight of the adult pigeons and postpone the rise of some pigeons.

I've done this before, letting the old birds and the young birds fly separately from the start, the young birds racing at the short and medium courses, the old birds at the long distance, and then letting them fly together when the race is at the appropriate stage.

Foreign professional lofts allow young and old birds to fly separately, and many competitors even have short, medium and long distance lofts for pigeons of different distances.

Some people think that young pigeons fly well when the family flies, and the old pigeons do not like to fly. In fact, as long as you develop a habit in a down-to-earth manner, the adult pigeons can fly well. Now I'm leaving everything to the manager.

In the past, when I was managing myself, I let the young pigeons and the old birds fly separately, and I felt that the old pigeons flew better and flew very well, and the statement that the adult pigeons were difficult to fly was not true, as long as the management was excellent, they were as good as the young pigeons.

There is no special work for the old pigeons, as long as they are well trained, the four- and five-year-old pigeons can fly very well. (There is a lot to do with the good flight of the old birds and the management of the regular release law emphasized earlier.) )

You should throw away the stereotypes that the old birds are difficult to let go, otherwise it just means that you are not yet a competent coach. I also believe that only young pigeons love to fly, but when they are released separately, they know that this is not the case, and the scene of the adult pigeons rushing left and right when they are in the ring house is simply amazing.

If fifty or sixty old birds reach their best at the same time, it will be an amazing force, and this season's results will certainly not be wrong.

In 1988 I won the Best Loft Award of the East Sea Federation, and that was the state at that time. Due to the illness of the loft manager, I was left alone to manage it, so there was not much hope, and as a result, the old birds achieved their potential and achieved decent success.

Judging from the direction of recent pigeon racing, the number of pigeons over one year old participating in the races before the distance race has increased, and I think that although the regional environment may cause differences in the race, it is still up to the old birds to get points in the distance race. (Yearlings or older birds are more advantageous in long distance races.) )
