During the Spring Festival, the autumn grass in the Foping Nature Reserve deep in the Qinling Mountains withered and yellowed, and the spring grass did not occur, but the herbivorous animals reached the stage when they were green and yellow. I photographed hairy-crowned deer, squirrels, antelopes, and iguanas around the compound of the conservation station. Thank you to these special neighbors for spending the Spring Festival with me, they gave me a different kind of duty life.
Hairy-crowned deer, also known as green chamois, black chamois, hidden horned deer, deer family hairy crown deer genus, the appearance is quite similar to deer. It is found only in China, with a wild distribution of Qinling Mountains in the north and near the Tropic of Cancer in the south, inhabiting evergreen broad-leaved forests and mixed coniferous and broad-leaved forests in subtropical medium and high mountains. Alert, good at concealment, it is difficult to find.
The hairy-crowned deer is a mammalian fur animal, and its trade name is green skin, which is a high-grade fur raw material. In recent years, the distribution range of hairy crested deer has been shrinking day by day, and the number is rare. In the Qinling mountains, the hairy crested deer has an indicative significance for forest tourism and scientific popularization.

After a few days of inspection, the furry-crested deer may have thought that the vegetable patch in front of the barracks in the reserve was relatively safe. After interacting with the owner of the barracks for several days, it completely put aside the embarrassment and shyness of the "gentleman on the beam" - opening a big meal and celebrating the New Year.
The West River originates in the area around Huang Barrel Liang, flows from northwest to southeast, through the central and western parts of the reserve, and receives mountain and stream rivers such as the Dabai River, the Xiaobai River, and the Xindianzi River along the way. More than 3/4 of the area in Foping Conservation Area belongs to the West River Basin.
The West River Conservation Station is built on a small alluvial fan at the confluence of the main course of the West River and the Xindianzi River in the reserve. Surrounded by mountains, it is like a paradise. A large area here belongs to the core area of the functional zoning of Foping Conservation Area, and the responsibility of the conservation station is to carry out seasonal patrol management of large areas of wildlife habitat in Foping Conservation Area.
