At about 11 o'clock on the 17th, the Niuzhuang Police Station of the Wufeng Tujia Autonomous County Public Security Bureau received a call from the people in the jurisdiction for help, saying that a wild animal was trapped in the sewage pond next to the nine groups of mixing stations in Niuzhuang Village, and the animal could not jump out on its own due to the high wall of the sewage pond. It has been observed that the animal may have been trapped for 1 to 2 days and hopes to be rescued.

The staff of Niuzhuang Forestry Management Station identified that the wild animal was a hairy-crowned deer and was a national second-level key protected animal. The hairy-crested deer is a small deer that is a herbivorous animal.
