Tangchang – a crippled ancient city around Chengdu

China's ancient cities are rarely preserved, and many cities are completely modernized and it is difficult to find historical shadows.

As a famous historical and cultural city, Chengdu has a very large number of ancient towns left behind, but the remains of ancient cities are also very small.

In Tangchang, a forgotten corner of Chengdu's Pidu District, a small number of ancient residential alleys have been fortunately preserved, and the broken ruins also prove the history of their thousand-year-old county seat.

Tangchang was originally Chongning County, which has a history of more than 1300 years.

Today, it has become the unnamed township of Pi County, Tangchang Town. Perhaps being away from development is part of the reason it can still be retained.

There are also some historical houses and historic buildings in the streets and alleys, which are not visited by tourists, and only occasionally crossed by local residents.

The Chongning Confucian Temple proves the history of Tangchang as a county seat.
