The definition of Sanchisu root, raw materials and sensory requirements, physical and chemical indicators, pollutant and pesticide residue limits, food additives, unsuitable people and maximum consumption amounts have been stipulated, and will be officially implemented on March 23, 2021. After the release of the standard, it marks that Sanqishu root has truly entered the market legally, and Yunnan characteristics such as "Sanqishu root steam pot chicken" will be served on the table according to the standard.

Sanqi is a valuable Chinese medicinal material in China, due to special requirements for environmental conditions, it is now only present in the mountainous areas of southwest China. Sanqi is a characteristic biological resource of Yunnan Province, mainly distributed in Wenshan, Honghe and other prefectures and cities. Sanchi whisker root is a whisker-like root that grows on the main root of Sanchi, due to policy factors, it has not been able to be developed and utilized as ordinary food, pre-packaged products cannot be legally listed, and can only be sold as a small range of primary agricultural products, resulting in limited development and utilization in the wider food field, and the industrial agglomeration effect and actual value are difficult to be truly reflected. Therefore, promoting the entry of Sanqi into local specialty foods is not only to meet the needs of the masses' happiness and sense of gain, and to promote the improvement of people's livelihood, but also an important measure to adapt to economic development and promote supply-side structural reform.

In accordance with the requirements of the "most rigorous standards" for food safety, the Yunnan Provincial Health Commission extensively draws on relevant information at home and abroad, collects samples of Sanqi root in the main production areas of Yunnan Province for testing analysis and safety assessment, conducts research on inspection institutions, production enterprises and regulatory departments in Wenshan and other places, listens to the opinions of all parties, invites experts from the Yunnan Provincial Food Safety Standards Expert Committee to strictly review, and after more than two years of efforts, has completed the formulation of local food safety standards.

The release of the local food safety standards for Sanqi Sugen marks the real legal entry of Sanqi Sugen into the market, which will broaden the development path of the Sanqi industry to the greatest extent, stimulate the economic benefits of the Sanqi industry, promote the transformation and upgrading of the Sanqi industry and leapfrog development, and play an active role in achieving accurate poverty alleviation. According to the estimates of the relevant departments of Wenshan, it is expected that by 2020, the value of the entire Sanqi industry will reach 5 billion yuan, and the direct income of farmers will increase by 1 billion yuan.
