According to UN News, the UN Postal Administration recently issued a new stamp featuring music icon and peace activist John Lennon to commemorate the International Day of Peace on 21 September this year.
The issuance of the stamp set reminds people that when the K-pop supergroup "Bulletproof Youth" caused a sensation at the United Nations and their message of hope and youthful idealism swept through the 76th session of the General Assembly, the cause of peace was also the cause that many of their musical predecessors had supported in the past.
The International Day of Peace, celebrated annually on 21 September, is dedicated to strengthening the ideal of peace within and among all nations and peoples.

The commemorative stamp includes lyrics from John Lennon's classic world peace carol, Imagine, and his signature, as well as three different portraits of the former Beatles member in his later years.
This year also marks the 50th anniversary of the recording of Imagine, which is considered the most successful single of Lennon's solo career.
The song has been sung at some of the world's largest events, including peace concerts, hunger concerts, New Year's celebrations and the Olympics — and it's seen as a hopeful message to people in difficult times.
The lyrics of Imagine encourage us to put aside all our differences and unite to imagine a peaceful world without greed, hunger or barriers that divide people and nations, the United Nations Postal Administration noted.
