The Empire State Building in Midtown Manhattan, New York City, lights up blue and white night lights to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the birth of legendary singer John Lennon.

According to WWNYTV, John Lennon, born on October 9, 1940, died on December 8, 1980, was a soul member of the rock band "The Beatles", disbanded in 1970, and subsequently released several albums and participated in many social activities, using music to call for peace.
On the evening of December 8, 1980, John Lennon was shot dead at the age of 40 by a severely mentally ill male fan, Mark Chapman, in his Manhattan apartment in New York City.
October 9, 2020, is John Lennon's 80th birthday, and in honor of John Lennon, the Empire State Building in Midtown Manhattan, New York City, the Empire State Building, lights up blue and white night lights.
On Thursday (October 8) evening, Sean Lennon, john Lennon's son, tweeted a video of the Empire State Building lit up with blue and white night lights and wrote: "Happy birthday, John! The lights are on! The Empire State Building lit sky blue and night lights representing the white of peace to commemorate John Lennon's 80th birthday. ”

Together with son Sean Lennon, John Lennon's wife Yoko Ono re-recorded several of John Lennon's songs to commemorate the life of John Lennon's legend.
