After the Battle of Taoyuan, the troops continued to move to eastern Fujian. It's mid-August and it's swelteringly hot! The number of wounded and sick has increased to more than a hundred, and when operating in enemy-occupied areas, no civilian husband can be found, and one wounded person needs four cadres and fighters to take turns to carry them, and the difficulty of the troops' actions is not difficult to imagine.
In order to find areas for the proper placement of the wounded and sick, and in order to open up links between several small guerrilla areas such as Ningde and Lianjiang, Xun Huaizhou, Su Yu, and Liu Ying agreed: Su Yu will lead a division as the vanguard unit to attack the county seat of Luoyuan.

On September 17, the Central Military Commission suddenly called and ordered them to ban their northward advance until they had completed the destruction of the Fujiang Railway and nearby roads. Sui'an is located in the upper reaches of the Xin'an River, about 200 kilometers away from Hangzhou, in the Qujiang, Lanjiang, Xinjiang triangle, the river is deep, steamboats can go directly to Jiande, Lanxi; land transportation and Zhejiang-Gansu railway and related highway trunk lines, traffic is very convenient, conducive to the mobilization of enemy troops. There is basically no grain produced here, and the mountain people live on bamboo and wood. These places have not yet established the foundation of our party's work, but they are the places where fugitive landlords from the Soviet region of northeastern Jiangxi live. In order to survive and preserve this tried-and-tested revolutionary contingent, all the officers and men, united as one, desperately broke through, finally killed a bloody road, jumped out of the encirclement, and then moved day and night to the Anhui-Gansu Border Region in the form of a rapid march.
However, the powerful enemy always pursued it, and for several days in a row, it was always unable to get rid of the enemy's tail chasing and interception. Late on the night of September 24, the Red Army's advance team rushed to Baojia Village, and shortly after camping, it was caught by the enemy on both sides of the tail chase and blockade. On October 15, the Japanese Military Commission called and ordered the advance team of the Red Army to immediately rush to the Fujian-Zhejiang-Gansu District to undergo reorganization and rectification.
