What are pinworms? Pinworms are distributed all over the world, and their adults parasitize the ileoclinic part of the human body, and are more common in the cecum, appendix, colon, rectum and lower ileum, and the infection rate in winter is higher than in summer. Patients with pinworm infection are mostly young children, who often present with restlessness, insomnia, loss of appetite, nighttime teeth grinding, and wasting. Infants and young children often present with repeated crying and restless sleep at night. Children often develop persistent re-infections through self-infection, contamination of food or the environment, and pinworm disease does not resolve.

The District CDC sampled 3 kindergartens in the district to carry out sampling surveys, and the children were sampled by the transparent adhesive paper swab method, and the sampling and testing were free of charge. For children who are detected positive, the campus will notify parents to bring the children for deworming drug treatment.

It is understood that the screening of pinworm disease is only the beginning of the screening of parasitic diseases, according to the relevant responsible comrades of the Xiangzhou District Cd-operative Center: a total of 163 people were screened in 3 kindergartens in Xiangzhou District, 7 people were positive, and the pinworm infection rate was 4.29%. Next, the municipal and district CDCs will continue to work together to monitor other common parasitic diseases such as liver flukes and ascariasis for other populations.
