In the evening of the same day, Ms. Lu, a member of the Bird Watching Branch of the Nanping Biological Society, received a call from an enthusiastic citizen saying that she had found an injured bird of prey in the field of Song Dan Village outside Yanping District. Upon learning of this, members of the bird watching club immediately drove to find out what was going on. It was judged that the raptor was a crested eagle, a national second-level key protected bird. Upon closer examination, it was found that the crested eagle had a fractured right leg and was so weak that it was unable to fly. The injured crested eagle was brought back, and after disinfection debridement, splint fixation and other treatments, the members of the bird watching club also replenished it with some nutrient solution, fed chicken breasts, and will be released in the wild in due course according to its condition.
It is understood that the crested eagle is a medium beast in the genus of eagles, also known as the crested goshawk, pink bird eagle, crested sparrowhawk, usually inhabiting the mountain forest below 2000 meters and the foot of the forest edge, but also appears in bamboo forests and small areas of jungle, occasionally to the foot of the plain and near the village activities, belongs to the national second-level key protected animals.
