
On September 13, the Forestry Bureau of Zhangshu City released a national second-level protected animal, the crested eagle, in the Zhangshu Qianxi Provincial Wetland Park in Jiangxi.
The police at the Dongmen police station found an "owl" that had mistakenly entered the office and sent it to the Forestry Bureau of Zhangshu City. After observation and identification by the wildlife protection staff, the "owl" is a crested eagle, a national second-level protected animal. The crested eagle is a medium-sized bird of prey, with a black-grey forehead, crown, and nape and crown, dark brown upperparts with white tail covert tips, and a pale brown tail with white end spots and a hidden but not conspicuous transverse band and 4 exposed dark brown transverse bands.
The staff carefully inspected and found that the eagle was in good health, in good condition and not scarred, and then took it to the wetland park to release it and let it return to nature.
