Former NBA player Aaron Brooks today retweeted a makeup photo of himself with former NBA player David Anderson and American high school graduate Lamelo Ball wearing the Irawara Eagles jersey of the Australian NBL League (see news picture).
"The season is about to start." The Illawarra Eagles officially wrote.
The Eagles won the only NBL title in franchise history in 2001.
Born in 1985, Brooks was selected by the Rockets with the 26th pick in the first round in 2007, and his career peak season was 2009-10, playing 82 regular season games for the Rockets' debut, averaging 19.6 points, 2.6 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 0.84 steals in 35.6 minutes per game, making him the most improved player of the season.
After leaving the Rockets, he has played for the Suns, Kings, Nuggets, Bulls, Pacers, Timberwolves and other teams, and has also joined the CBA Guangdong team. Brooks joined the Ilavala Hawks of the Australian NBL league this summer.
Born in 1980, David Anderson was selected by the Hawks with the 8th pick in the second round in 2002, joining the Rockets in the 2009–10 season, landing in the NBA and becoming teammates with Brooks. Later, in the 2010-11 season, he played the Hornets and Raptors, averaging 12.3 minutes per game in his career, with 4.9 points and 2.8 rebounds.
Lamelo Ball, the younger brother of Pelicans guard Lonzo Ball, chose to skip college and play in the Australian League to quickly improve his athletics and draft prospects. Ball signed the Hawks for two years, with the option to jump out of the contract to join the NBA.
