Many people think that Liu Xun is a Hong Konger, but he is not, he is an authentic Beijinger.
Born in Beijing in 1939, Liu Xun was the same age as Yu Chenghui, but the latter learned martial arts, and Liu Xun learned Peking Opera at the age of 6.
Because he was instructed by Peking Opera masters Li Wanchun, Shang Heyu and others, Liu Xun debuted at a very young age, and had a small reputation in the industry, and at the age of 14, he also followed the Chinese delegation to perform the essence of the country.
In 1958, when Liu Xun was 19 years old, he was favored by Mei Lanfang, the dean of the Central Academy of Performing Arts, and was invited to teach at the Peking Opera House, and for the next 20 years, he taught Peking Opera and model opera for decades, and of course, he did not go to various places to perform.
In 1980, the spring breeze of reform and opening up gently caressed the land of China, and Liu Xun had reached the age of no confusion. He could have held the iron rice bowl and served for another 20 years until retirement.
But he suddenly made a decision that surprised everyone around him - to leave his job and go to Hong Kong to develop.
Leaving the job means giving up the iron rice bowl and means starting a new career. He is 41 years old, how easy is it to go to Hong Kong, a place where he is not familiar with life? However, Liu Xun still insisted on his choice.
There are three reasons, one is that the bureaucracy of the college is gradually rising, many people are busy sneaking around and taking the back door, and he really despises it; second, he wants to make this national essence better known to the world; third, he also wants to see the outside world.
In fact, at that time, there were many people like Liu Xun who resigned from the iron rice bowl and came out to start a business or find a way out on their own, because reform and opening up was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
In this way, Liu Xun went to Hong Kong alone, because he was famous, he did not lack jobs at all, and he was hired by the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts as a lecturer for a long time to engage in Cantonese opera research.

Fast forward to 1986.
This year, the famous director Xu Ke, who is 11 years younger than Liu Xun, directed the filming of the film "Dao Ma Dan", because there was a lot of Peking Opera content in the film, Xu Ke looked for Peking Opera masters in Hong Kong.
After being introduced, Xu Ke met Liu Xun and invited the latter to serve as the opera director of the film, and the two joined forces for the first time and were very successful, at the same time, Xu Ke found that Liu Xun had an amazing talent in acting, so he recommended him to his peers.
The following year, the 48-year-old Liu Xun ushered in his first performance on the screen, he played the fierce Maoshan Taoist master brother Shi Jian in the movie "Supreme Zombie", in which he and Lin Zhengying played opposite each other.
In the next few years, Liu Xun also starred in supporting roles in many films, such as the "Smiling Pride Jianghu" series, the "Huang Feihong" series, the "Ghost of Qiannu" series, "Smiling Proud Jianghu", "New Dragon Gate Inn" and so on.
Liu Xun is known as "a thousand faces", because he can play every role with ease, whether it is a good person or a bad person, and its contrast and span are breathtaking.
