Scenic Thought and Politics Class: Walk into Xiao Jinguang's former residence and pay tribute to the power of example

He is an alumnus of our Chang County, the only admiral among the ten founding generals of new China, he is the founding father of the navy, served as the commander of the navy for 30 years, and made outstanding contributions to the creation and development of the people's navy. At 9:00 a.m. on October 10, Zhang Hui, a teacher of ethics and rule of law at Changjun Bilingual Experimental Middle School, led 12 student representatives of the school to start a journey of exploration and learning at Xiao Jinguang's former residence at the foot of Lushan Mountain and on the shore of Xiangshui.
In order to fully reflect the status of students as the main body and fully implement the fundamental task of Lide Shuren, this study is divided into three stages under the leadership of Teacher Zhang Hui.
The first is "reminiscing about the glory days of the past". In order to let the students more deeply understand history and understand General Xiao Jinguang, the students reproduced the scene of Xiao Jinguang's first patriotic education baptism at the age of 14 on the slope on the side of the former residence. It was "April 12, 1917 - April 15, 1917, Cai Yi and Huang Xing were buried in Yuelu Mountain, and the flags of Changsha were lowered at half-mast to mourn, and people were grief-stricken, including many primary school students in Changsha, singing lamentations all the way with their childish voices, sending farewell to the two great men. Xiao Jinguang, who was still in elementary school, was also among them at this time. The wonderful interpretation of the three students could not help but make everyone present sigh and move: Xiao Jinguang will be an example for my generation, and Revolutionary martyrs such as Cai Yi and Huang Xing are heroic models in Xiao Jinguang's heart, which shows how great the power of the example is.

The second stage of study is "approaching General Xiao Jinguang". At this stage, students need to draw research topics, stipulate that in a 30-minute period, combined with the themes and problems, they need to approach General Xiao Jinguang in depth and detail, recall General Xiao's heroic achievements, and talk about the insights they have gained after the end of the study. During the exploration stage, 12 students turned into four teams and began after self-registration, which identified the leader of the group, the core recorder, and the spokesperson of the center. During the learning process, the members of each team first visited as a whole to understand the life and deeds of General Xiao Jinguang, and then focused on the core themes in the group as a unit, carried out detailed records and in-depth discussions. During this process, Mr. Zhang Hui accompanied the whole process and answered questions for the students in a timely manner. Through the exploration at this stage, each regiment shared the deeds that made the most profound impression on themselves at different theme stages, and at the same time, the students also shared many insights, learning about the great spiritual qualities of General Xiao Jinguang such as heroism, perseverance, loyalty, and courage, as well as the military ability of Xiao Jinguang, who is brave and good at war, and can be literate and able to use martial arts, and clarified the important significance of setting an example for individuals, society, and the country.

To learn from the example and pay tribute to the power of the role model, we must not only internalize it in our hearts, but also externalize it in our actions.
