In 1985, the National Crop Variety Approval Committee recognized it as a national variety, numbered GS13006-1985.
The hairy crab tea plant is moderate, the tree posture is semi-open, densely branched, and the leaves are horizontal. The leaves are oval, the leaf color is dark green, shiny, the leaf surface is slightly raised, the leaf margin is microwave or flat, the leaf body is flat, the leaf tip is gradually pointed, the leaf teeth are sharp and dense, the leaf texture is thick and brittle, the bud leaves are pale green, the hair is more, the internodes are short, the three-leaf bud weighs 68.5 g, the corolla diameter is 4.4 cm, the petals are 6 petals, the ovary is hairy, and the flower column is 3 lobes.
Hairy crab bud leaves have strong fertility, dense germination and poor tenderness. The peak period of a bud and three leaves is in mid-April, and the yield is high, and the production of oolong tea per 667 square meters can reach 200-300kg. The dried sample of spring tea with one bud and two leaves contains about 3.0% amino acids, 20.1% of tea polyphenols, 15.8% of the total amount of catechins, and 4.1% of caffeine. Suitable for oolong tea, green tea, black tea, excellent quality. Making oolong tea, tight knots and heavy knots, brownish green color, high aroma, mellow taste; making black tea, green tea, no obvious, high aroma, thick taste. It is highly resistant to cold and drought, has strong reproductive ability of cuttings, and has a high survival rate.
