Synopsis: This new film by Michael Bay is based on Mitchell Zuckoff's novel of the same name and is a film with a political theme. On September 11, 2012, an anti-American demonstration in front of the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, in which dozens of militants stormed the consulate overnight, turning into violent clashes that eventually led to the deaths of four people, including the U.S. ambassador, Christopher J. Stevens, the first U.S. ambassador to be killed by a terrorist in 33 years.

The film is Michael Bay's third film to be based on true events after Pearl Harbor (2001) and Give and Take (2013).
Michael Bay originally intended to shoot on film, but director of cinematography, Dion Beebe, wanted to do it digitally. In the end, due to the large number of night scenes in the film and the tension of shooting Sundays, Bay finally compromised.
The first cut of the film is 240 minutes long.
Michael Bay revealed that in his past experience as a director, he often came into contact with some military-born actors or technicians, and had a certain understanding of them, which made him feel qualified to tell the story of a soldier.

Creative background
The film 13 Hours of Crisis is based on Mitchell Tsacoff's 2013 book 13 Hours. On February 10, 2014, Paramount Pictures acquired the rights to adapt the film and put it under the supervision of Ervin Stoff and Chuck Hogan as the screenwriter. [2] On October 29, 2014, Michael Bay was selected as the film's director.
The filming process
In March 2015, the film crew set up a scene in Tatchili, Malta, and filming officially began in Malta and Morocco on April 27, 2015.
