Xi'an Restaurant
Formerly known as The Xi'an Hotel, it was founded by Feng Kechang in the seventeenth year of the Republic of China (1928), originally located on West Avenue, and moved to No. 298 East Avenue in 1958. In 1977, it was expanded into a six-story building with a total business area of 8,000 square meters and more than ten restaurants such as Chinese and Western food and snack departments. Among them, the three restaurants on the fourth floor present the different styles of the six dynasties from the aspects of decoration display, dishes, tableware, and service. The hotel department with more than 200 beds and the shopping mall that sells various daily industrial products are comfortable and convenient to eat, live and shop.
Xi'an Restaurant has a strong culinary force, with a total of 2 special chefs and 58 first, second and third level chefs. Its service level is also very high, with 1 service division and 33 first- and second-level waiters. It can make more than 700 kinds of dishes and more than 800 kinds of Chinese and Western delicacies. Among them, the famous housekeeper dishes include gourd chicken, gold thread stuffed hair dish, three skin silk, chicken rice sea cucumber, warm mixed waist silk and so on. Precious snacks such as bubble oil cake, oil shortbread, golden thread oil tower, yellow cinnamon persimmon cake and so on are also famous at home and abroad.
In 1936, Zhou Enlai, Dong Biwu, and others held a banquet here, and discussed with Zhang Xueliang, General Yang Hucheng, and patriotic democrats from all walks of life on the anti-Japanese plan and vigorously promoted the peaceful settlement of the "Xi'an Incident." After the founding of the People's Republic of China, it has successively received VIPs from all provinces and dozens of countries and regions and even heads of state, and has done its utmost to develop international exchanges and promote horizontal alliances. In 1973, under the care of Premier Zhou Enlai, Xi'an Restaurant was rebuilt and completed in 1977. Guo Moruo personally inscribed the name of the restaurant in Xi'an.
Ten years of the "Cultural Revolution" have suffered hundreds of losses, and Xi'an Restaurant has been operating in a dismal manner. From 1990 to 1993, the profit of Xi'an Restaurant increased at a rate of 47% per year.
