Ulanf was one of the pioneers of the dedication of the minority nationalities in our country to the cause of communism. On May 1, 1947, he personally led the establishment of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region People's Government, which also marked the birth of the country's first provincial-level ethnic minority autonomous region government. He has worked in Inner Mongolia for a long time, serving as the main leader of the party, government and army, and has served as vice premier of the State Council, vice chairman of the National People's Congress, and vice president of the state. He was awarded the rank of General in 1955.

On December 25, 1906, Ulanf was born here. He spent his childhood and adolescence here from 1906 to 1919. In 1919, Ulan fu left his hometown to study in Guisui (present-day Hohhot). In 1923, he was admitted to the Peking Mongolian-Tibetan School and has since devoted himself to the revolution. In 1926, he returned from Sun Yat-sen University in Moscow, Soviet Union, returned to his hometown to carry out revolutionary activities, centered on his former residence, established more than a dozen contact points and peasant associations in the surrounding villages, launched a struggle against rent and taxation, and sent two groups of revolutionary youth to the party organization. In September 1931, Ulanf accepted instructions from Wang Ruofei to engage in party, military and intelligence work, and covered with his family for intelligence officers sent by his superiors in his residence. Before liberation, it was destroyed. In 1987, the former residence was repaired and officially opened in October 1991. In the courtyard is a bronze bust of Ulanf, displaying photographs of Ulanf's youth and parents.
