Fast technology on May 31, according to the "Autohome" report, a number of sources close to SAIC-GM recently revealed that SAIC-GM plans to take advantage of the high temperature to let the production line employees take a holiday for 2-3 months, which may affect all the factories of the four major production bases of SAIC-GM.

It is understood that from July to August every year, some automobile manufacturing enterprises will give "high temperature vacation" for production line employees, ranging from 3 to 15 days.

The above-mentioned people familiar with the matter said that the ultra-long high temperature holiday is not simply to control production capacity, the rapid decline in SAIC-GM's domestic sales is the direct cause of this "summer vacation", and during this period, it is not clear whether the wages of production line employees can be paid as usual.

According to the data, SAIC-GM has a total of four production bases in China, namely Pudong Jinqiao (Autoneng Super Factory, Jinqiao South Plant + North Plant, Cadillac Plant), Yantai Dongyue, Shenyang Beisheng and Wuhan.

At present, GM has three major car brands in China, Chevrolet, which focuses on cost-effectiveness, Buick for the end market, and Cadillac for the luxury market.

Production and sales data show that from January to April this year, the cumulative sales of SAIC-GM's three major brands were 161,200 units, a year-on-year decrease of 39.40%, becoming the company with the largest decline in SAIC since 2024.
