Yu Dazhong

Huan Xuan (369–404), courtesy name Jingdao, was a Lingbao, a native of Longkang County,in the state of Qi (谯国; present-day Huaiyuan, Anhui). A powerful minister of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, he was the son of Sima Huanwen and the founding emperor of Huanchu.

Huan Xuan was loved by Huan Wen from an early age, and Huan Wen died in the first year of Ning Kang (373), when huan Xuan was five years old, attacked the Duke of Fengnan County. In the sixteenth year of Taiyuan (391), Huan Xuan was appointed crown prince to wash horses, and later served as Yixing Taishou, who was quite unmotivated and deeply hated the ruling chancellor Sima Daozi, so he abandoned his official post and returned to the fiefdom of Nan Commandery (南郡), and fought with The Jingzhou Assassin Shi Yin Zhongkan to contain and use each other.

In the second year of Long'an (398), Wang Gong of Yanzhou joined forces with Huan Xuan and Yin Zhongkan to raise troops against Sima Shangzhi, but Wang Gong was defeated and killed by Liu Gao's defection, and Yin Zhongkan and Yang Yu jointly promoted Huan Xuan as their ally. In the third year of Long'an (399), Sima Yuanxian (son of Sima Daozi) was the governor of Jingzhou, and Huan Xuandu was the governor of Jingzhou, which divided Huan Xuan's relationship with Yin and Yang. In that year, when jingzhou was flooded, Huan Xuan took the opportunity to eliminate Yang Qi and Yin Zhongkan.

In the following year (400), the imperial court issued an edict to Huan Xuandu Governor Jing Si Yong Qin Liang Yining Seven Prefectures Military, Hou General, Jingzhou Assassin History, False Festival. This is the origin of Huan Xuan's appointment as the Assassin of Jingzhou. Jingzhou was originally Huan Xuan's old lair and base area, where he trained soldiers and horses and was ready to attack.

In the first year of YuanXing (402), Sima Yuanxian ordered a crusade against Huan Xuan. Huan Xuan sent an army from Jingzhou to the east, attacked the capital Jiankang, killed Sima Daozi's father and son, and took charge of the imperial government. On December 3 of the first year of the Tycoon (403), he officially ascended the throne as emperor, established Huan Chu, and changed the yuan to Yongshi. In the first year of Yongshi (404), Liu Yu and Liu Yi raised an army at Jingkou to discuss it, and Huan Xuan's army was defeated and fled west, and was killed by Yizhou soldiers. After only a few months of Huan Xuan's reign, the Huanchu Dynasty was overthrown.
