According to the Yonhap News Agency, the relevant person of the South Korean Ministry of National Defense said on the 25th that the work of disarming the Panmunjom Joint Garrison Area (JSA) between the TWO Koreas is proceeding smoothly, and the two sides strive to complete the relevant work today.

According to reports, the ROK and the United Nations Command held a meeting on the 22nd, and the three sides reached an agreement on the removal of the outposts in the Panmunjom common garrison area by the 25th, the withdrawal of troops and weapons, and then the joint inspection from the 26th to the 27th.

According to the agreement, 5 North Korean posts and 4 South Korean posts in the joint security zone will be removed, while the RoK will set up a post at the end of the "Panmunjom Bridge" in the common security zone, and the DPRK will set up a new post in the Korean area of Panmunjom.

It is expected that from next month, the two sides will be able to move freely between the north and south sides of the joint security zone after the completion of the work related to the mutual establishment of posts between the two koreas and the dprk. According to the 9/19 Military Agreement, non-governmental people from the ROK and North Koreas, as well as domestic and foreign tourists, can move freely in the area.

The 35 korean and North Korean servicemen on joint duty at Panmunjom will not be allowed to carry firearms. In accordance with the spirit of the Armistice Agreement, there is no military demarcation line (MDL) mark in the Panmunjom Common Security Zone, and the two sides can move freely, and the Rok-North Korea security posts are also located together.
